Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears OT Marc Colombo has been fined $12,500 by the NFL for a leg whip on Chicago Bears DT Tommie Harris Week 3. Colombo was not penalized on the play, but the league believed he was guilty of unnecessary roughness.

This is total BS. :bang2:

Not only did we get screwed over by the refs in one of the most biasd officiated games of all time, we then get fined almost $25,000 after the game.:bang2:

Why was Roy the only person fined for a horsecaller when the Bears did it like 5 freaking times?:bang2:

Ware definitely tripped him, there's no question about it. But since when can't you trip a player? It's not like he got him from behind, Grossman basically tripped trying to scramble over his legs.

Exactly. Ware did trip him in the sense that Grossman was tripped, but not in the sense that Ware did it deliberately...although after Grossman tripped on the first leg, it appears Ware may have thrown the other out there for that very purpose. Ware wiffed on the second leg though.

My point was, that in no way should the Ware sack have been a penalty on anyone other than the lineman that held him.

I just find it amazing that now we've been fined $24,000 from that game, and of course, Goodell or the league has no comment on the horrendous calls made by the refs. In fact, I was watching inside the NFL, and Colinsworth actually called the head office to get clarification on why the ref had wound the clock and whether it was reviewable, and all the head guy said is that it's 100% not reviewable, they didn't even admit the mistakes. Idiots.

That was my other point. I hope the league office applied some white-out over lil' danny and st. gibbs' names on their weekly letter apologizing for the refs and sub in JJ's and Wades. That game was one of the poorest called games in recent memory.

OT...I was kinda drunk, but what happened to roughing the kicker? Didn't McBriar go down twice without the Bear player ever touching the ball? Someone refresh my memory. Not that it matters anymore, but I'd like to know what happened there.

Another fine mess
The league hit up two Cowboys for fines of $12,500 from last week's game at Chicago.

Right tackle Marc Colombo was fined for a leg whip on Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris, although he was not penalized on the play. Colombo joined Roy Williams in the fine department. Williams was fined for his horse-collar tackle of tight end Desmond Clark.

Other players this year have been fined for some uniform violations. One vet was upset he was fined $5,000 for not having his chin strap buckled.
