Worth a quick read.

Aaron Glenn, 52, played for the Cowboys. He's a Texas guy. He's getting rave reviews for his work running the Lions defense. And now comes word that Jerry Jones is "intrigued'' with Glenn as a head coach candidate.

FRISCO - We have strongly suggested in this space that if the Dallas Cowboys wish to shed themselves from their growing reputation as an "unserious football franchise,'' they should find a way to interview, among others, Aaron Glenn.

And suddenly it seems Jerry Jones might agree with us.

All things considered, he is the best they can do….but he probably knows better. There will be other opportunities for him and he will likely succeed.

Anyone who claims they can win under the current circumstances in Dallas just wants the paycheck. Glenn isn’t on that list. Doesn’t have to be.

And I absolutely question the stones and/or merit on anyone who signs up to be wing clipped and undermined as a head coach.

That means youre a Rex Ryan type who no one else would hire, or someone who isn’t qualified or ready. Shocker that Dallas can’t win and is routinely out coached against top opponents.

At age 82, after having thrown away a decade on his last perfect puppet project, still hasn’t given up on the idea of “grooming” his future head coach.

I guess it’s not the worst idea when it begins to sink in that no one really wants to work for you.

The actual quote in the story isn't a quote at all...

ESPN is now backing up our thoughts on Glenn, reporting on Saturday that Dallas is "intrigued'' by him and "would like to speak to him.''

Um....???

WHO at ESPN said this? Someone credible? If it's a reporter, why isn't s/he named?

Or is it someone anecdotally speculating based on Watkins' talk from yesterday?

Sorry, I'm just among those who've learned to not trust Fish bait.

he's my first choice.
i think he'd be a home-run.
he's done an excellent job running that defense.
the injuries haven't stopped them from generating pressures.
he's what we need.
smart.
tough.
strong.
disciplined.
a football guy.
