Cowboys Corner: Tank Johnson to Dallas?

Don't rule it out. More Cowboys sources said Friday there is at least a possibility of bringing in the former troubled Bears defensive tackle, who is currently serving an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

I really don't want Tank, although I won't rule it out.

He was not even the best tackle on that Bears team, he's always played in a 4-3 as far as I know, and he has a loooonnnnggg history of trouble. It would be just our luck that he would get in trouble again and the inconsistent commissioner would fine the Cowboys or take more drastic action against them in addition to banning Tank. He's just not worth the risk.

that's just because their other defensive tackle was Tommie Harris, probably the best dt in the game.. I'm not really one way or another on Tank, just sayin'..

I think it has a lot to do with how Ratliff and Remi do. As far as Tank's abilities, he may not be an elite player but there just aren't many DT walking the streets these days. I'm in favor of bringing him in IF Calvin Hill adopts him.

Obviously, if Ratliff and Remi bomb we have to bring somebody in. But it doesn't have to be someone who is that great of a risk. I'd rather trade a 2nd day pick to another team for an average DT who has a clean record.

Just kind of curious where all this Mac Engel hatred came from. Because he made claims that the coaching staff doesn't think highly of Bobby Carpenter. How, exactly, has Engel been proven wrong? He's pretty much buried at the bottom of the roster. When Burnett comes back, it will be interesting to see if Carpenter can even get on the field in nickel.
