Just kind of curious where all this Mac Engel hatred came from. Because he made claims that the coaching staff doesn't think highly of Bobby Carpenter. How, exactly, has Engel been proven wrong? He's pretty much buried at the bottom of the roster. When Burnett comes back, it will be interesting to see if Carpenter can even get on the field in nickel.

Ir it really comes down to this. Engel made the article stating the cowboys may trade Carp and then made a blog entry where he said that Phillips alluded to Carp being a poor pass rusher without a quote or proof in either place.

in this instance he is quoting a team source which is more than likely Dalrymple and there are several other outlets corroborating this.

That being said if Engel reports something without corroboration i ignore it.

He basically said we couldn't stop the run so Miami should try and exploit that. Without a big time run stuffer in the middle we are vulnerable. He obviously didn't see the game.

No kidding. I think he does a pretty good job. I think a lot of the hate comes from who he's married to.

And on Carpenter, I'd say the fact that he never even had a chance of starting at OLB over a rookie that Wade clearly preferred not to start is all the confirmation that story needs.

I really don't want Tank, although I won't rule it out.

He was not even the best tackle on that Bears team, he's always played in a 4-3 as far as I know, and he has a loooonnnnggg history of trouble. It would be just our luck that he would get in trouble again and the inconsistent commissioner would fine the Cowboys or take more drastic action against them in addition to banning Tank. He's just not worth the risk.

What risk? He doesn't have leverage over any team. Minimum contract w/ no guarantees; if he acts up, cut him. Where's the risk?
