No brainer......can see this coming a mile away. Not a bad addition.......could be Zim's coach in the locker room.

Cowboys could reunite Eric Kendricks with Mike Zimmer in free agency

Kendricks was nucleus of the Vikings defense for seven years under Zimmer, culminating in a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2019 when he posted 110 tackles, 12 passes defended, four tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

Now 32 years old, Kendricks obviously isn't the same player he was back then, but he was a bright spot on an otherwise dismal Chargers defense last season. In 15 games, he produced 117 tackles and a 73.6 run-defense grade to go with a 82.5 pass-rush grade that ranked fourth amongst linebackers, per Pro Football Focus. His seven missed tackles were also tied for the fewest at the position.

The only reason Kendricks got released is because the Chargers are starved for cap space. The move provides $6.5 million in cap relief and they're still $19.5 million over the cap. With decisions looming on Mike Williams, Khalik Mack and Joey Bosa, Kendricks was likely the first of multiple Chargers cap dominos to fall before the new league year.

I have a feeling we’re not signing any big names. It’s sad we’re at that point.

He rated out well last season. Not elite, but solid.

We need a leader who knows the defense and capable of wearing the green dot. He does this
Agreed…and fair, just seen too many dudes on the wrong side of 30 suddenly not be able to run anymore once signed here. Scorned probably. Ranting today lol.

Concerned he is 32.... but guess this is typical of the FA this office will seek. Those with not much leverage, and trying to latch onto a team. Yeah, he is a Zimmer guy, but again, another one that is day late and dollar short. We shall see. Not a big guy either. Oh well, probably another one year contract.

We should find out pretty quick if Kendricks and Zimmer are willing to team up again because Kendricks can be signed immediately since he was cut.

Zimmer: We need to bring in Kendricks to fix the MLB spot.

Stephen: If he isn't playing for free we do not want to make the moves needed to fit him under the cap.
