The average score per game is around 22. So if the Cowboys offense is even slightly below average, they lose the game.

I think his point is winning low scoring game...but to your point yes defense has had games when they allow less than 20.

Stats ahead of winning. It’s all Cowboys fans have. Cling to it. Eagles have won two games scoring less than 20 points this season. Against the Packers and Lions. It’s the difference in the Cowboys’ being out of contention right now.

This stat is really misleading.

The Cowboys' offense has generally been very explosive the past five years. Basically, when the Cowboys win, they've scored a ton of points.

Low scoring games are not the norm in today's NFL.

The bottom line is very few teams win games scoring less than 20 points. Especially in today's NFL where the rules are geared towards the offense.

Also saying Dallas is 0-29 scoring less than 20 since that Saints game in 2018 means Dallas has scored 20 or less just 29 times in the past 119 games or so. This is actually a compliment to the Cowboys.
