Cowboys currently on a 29 game losing streak scoring less than 20 points

The perspective is no team in the NFL, not even the Browns or Titans, has a streak anywhere close to this. Common sense should tell you it's not meaningless by the simple fact many NFL teams have such wins, this year alone, yet Dallas hasn't in 7 years.

Where do you have this information from ?

I dont see this in his twitter (X) post.

Get my point ?

BTW Common sense doesnt help with facts. In fact a lot of people think because its common sense that the way they think is true. But it is not true nor is it right. More often than you think ;-)
Thats also why you have a lot of people with common sense who work as a clerk or behind a counter. And only a few who actually are able to use the logical part of their brain who then work as scientists.

But what is true is that your thinking is a sign and prove of the Benning-Krüger effect.

Let me guess - it was the defenses fault in each loss because they didn't hold the opponent to less than 10

I would say that if your team *never* wins a low scoring game, then yeah, your defense has problems.

No offense but your answer doesnt sound like you actually understood what i tried to explain.

Which part do you have troubles with? I will try to explain it more thouroughly.
Would you disagree that average QBs tend to garner big paychecks despite not necessarily being “worth” their contract? That’s why I mentioned Cousins (4 year 180 mil) and Goff (4 years 212 mil). Goff only got about 30 mil less compared to Dak’s latest extension.

I am not disagreeing with your point about mismanagement, but it’s hardly something that is out of the norm across various teams in the league.

Somethings are inherently obvious, and a twitter post isn't the place to write a history book of recent wins and losses. Common sense tells you this is an awful stat for Dallas, and it is.

Your inital point was that QBs of DAKs caliber get paid high contracts.

I disagreed and still do. Please show me one with his skillset who got this kind of an contract. And no Goff and Cousins are not good examples. They are superior players and have lesser contracts.

Goffs contract is lower than daks. In his first two years his salary cap impact is half than daks just as an example. In his last two years 27 and 28 his cap figures are still way below daks. But goff is a far superior player than prescott.

Cousins is a bad example because he is worse than he was years ago. Still i consider him superior than dak. Far superior if you weight in his whole career with his peaks. Still his contract is way below daks cap hit wise.

And no i do not disagree that the markets demand and supply has also influence on players contracts. But i never questioned that anyways. The real question and challenge for an management is: how do we find ways to minimize market influence. Most successful NFL franchises are able to. We are not. And i do not think its the norm like you assess.

My critique (as was your post) was about the player prescott and players of his "caliber" in sepcific. My critique was about those who gave him his contract. Those are the ones also (and those talking heads in the media) who want us to believe that it is like you said. But it aint so.

As i wrote before: ridiculous overpaid player contracts come from mismanagement not market influence.

I'll just keep it simple. Jerry spends the vast majority of resources, draft and spending, on offense. We're not going to be in very many low scoring games. The defense is just window dressing.

That game is from the 2018 season.
Balderdash

Numerous extremely reputable posters on this forum have repeatedly stated that Dak has been forced to carry garbage defenses his entire career and always has to be near perfect and score TDs on every single possession for the Cowboys to have a chance to win. Over and over they repeat this mantra

The 2018 Saints averaged nearly 32 ppg. And we held them to 10? We won a game against a team that finished 13-3, when our offense scored 13 points?

Something doesn't add up here.....

This stat is really misleading.

The Cowboys' offense has generally been very explosive the past five years. Basically, when the Cowboys win, they've scored a ton of points.

Low scoring games are not the norm in today's NFL.
Right. It’s like… you want the offense to be worse?

It's sad when watching game footage makes me envious of a team that had LVE as one of its top linebackers. I mean, he wasn't a bad player, but compared to what we have out there now in Murray and Wilson, he looks like an All-Pro.

You can now officially add 30 straight years without winning a divisional round playoff game.

Lots of awesome streaks for the JonesBoys.

Agree to disagree. I don’t have confidence in either of those QBs doing any better than Prescott if they are put in the same situation.

I’ll agree that bad contracts do come from bad management, but overpaying QBs who haven’t accomplished anything is definitely per the course across various teams. So the reason is that multiple clubs have bad management, not necessarily market influence.

Yeah Goff is definitely not anything special. Shameful series I just watched vs Pittsburgh.

This is evidence that Dak and the offense, no matter what year, struggle in high pressure games where the defense is tough.

This is why I don't care if they go 16-1, I don't believe it until I see them win a tough low scoring game in the playoffs.

They are missing something, either a pedigree QB, a good offense OC, a good coach, guts, fortitude, etc, but this stat shows this is an ongoing theme, year after year.
