The Cowboys have cut both defensive end Martez Wilson and fullback J.C. Copeland. Kind of surprised they let Wilson go; but maybe this means Anthony Spencer is getting close to a return.

Demarcus Lawrence will be on crutches with a broken fifth metatarsal in his foot until early September. Latest estimates are he misses anywhere from 3 to 6 regular season games.

Last I read, Lawrence says he's aiming for the game against the Saints for his return.
But that's his goal, trainers and doctors may say differently. But should would be nice if he can.

IRVING, Texas - The first wave of roster cuts are already underway for the Cowboys, who return to the practice field Monday and have to trim the roster down from 90 to 75 players by Tuesday.

Among the first to go include defensive end Martez Wilson, who was with the Cowboys last year and got significant snaps in training and this preseason. A three-year veteran who spent two seasons with the Saints before heading to Oakland for a brief spot last year, Wilson played in two games last season with the Cowboys.

In the preseason, Wilson had eight tackles and two sacks, including one in Saturday’s 25-20 loss to the Dolphins.

The receiver Boyd would fit that theory. He didn't play in the Ravens game and I don't remember seeing him in the Dolphins game; although, I did see him listed as being on some ST units.

I don't remember seeing Chris Boyd play on offense against the Miami Dolphins, but PFF shows him with 13 snaps.

I heard somewhere, it may have been Mickey Spagnola, that Boyd is simply gassed as this point after not playing football last year.
