Please.

McClain, Okoye, Spencer, Lawrence, and Melton could change this team if they just play at a decent level.

When D-Law gets back, it could really change this team due to fresh legs. Ain't like he won't have the film study. He could be the cog we need on the D in late October to make a push, if we are there at that time to make one.

Lawrence, Melton and Spencer. In lesser degrees as you go along, mainly due to health. The other two are not even really worth counting on as more than bodies if/when they return.

I don't remember seeing Chris Boyd play on offense against the Miami Dolphins, but PFF shows him with 13 snaps.

I heard somewhere, it may have been Mickey Spagnola, that Boyd is simply gassed as this point after not playing football last year.

That would be really interesting if Spags is correct, considering all of the hype about Rolando McClain not being in football condition yet.

If they are just average ho hum players that would help us out a lot.

Boyd was in special teams. Did a good job on one of Harris's returns.

What are the chances all are 100% at the same time this year? It would make a difference. For now I'd settle for McC, DLaw and Melton.

If we get lucky with some of those guys then we have a chance at being a better team than 6-10, 7-9.

We need a miracle. With all of these injuries we have had its time for us to catch a break and get some production from these guys that are hobbled but actually have a bit of talent.

Wouldn't hurt if a vet pass rusher got cut for some reason.

He will be a rookie 2nd round pick with no training camp and no physical activity for 2 months, seeing his first ever NFL game speed action. I would temper expectations, for at least a month or so we will be lucky if he is an effective 3rd down pass rush specialist.

Honestly I think there is a better chance Spencer comes back and has an impact than this kid. And that's saying something since a couple of months ago the question was if Spencer would even play again.

With the release of Martez Wilson, now all eyes are focused on Kenneth Boatright. The question now becomes if can he line up at right defensive end and give this club a stable and reliable pass rush from that spot? Against the Dolphins, Boatright saw extensive action on special teams, and from my observations, he did not make any glaring mistakes in those opportunities. But let’s be honest here: he was not brought on board here to play special teams. This staff wants him to put his hand in the dirt and rush the passer. What I have noticed about his game is that he doesn’t always play with that burst and acceleration. It’s strange how it comes and goes with him. There are snaps where he is up the field in a hurry, followed by snaps where he appears to be stuck in sand. He just hasn’t been as consistent as he needs to be. There is also the issue of his upper body strength. He is just not a naturally strong player and this causes him problems getting off blocks. If he rushes a blocker down the middle, he has no shot of disengaging. There are too many flashes with this player not to give him a shot because as they sit now, those options are limited.
