Why stop at 10? Why not 50?
Why stop at 10? Why not 50?
To get a sack, there are several things more important than a rusher's skill.
Just lumping things together:
Playcall
QB recognition
OL recognition
WR separation
Offensive ideology
are all far and away more important than "did the DE beat the OT."
Sacks is an offense stat, more than anything.
10 sacks, 15 QB hits, 10 TFLs, 5 personal fouls, 2 ejections and 3 car accidents. Absolutely love this kid but he sure makes it interesting...
3 car accidents? I'm taking the under there, bro.
We all try to be funny at one time or another. You should have stopped typing after the sacks and TFL amounts.
???????Really hoping he can make tank cuttable next off-season.
You don't know what all teams in the NFL do, I wasn't being led anywhere.Straight to ignore..you were being led to what is actually done by all teams in the NFL and prefer to hang onto disrespect instead,
No. Great edge rushers are able to take advantage of mistakes by offenses. But a sack generally does not happen without the offense making a mistake or a QB choosing to hold the ball when WRs aren't open. You're just flat out wrong. You make it seem like getting a sack is largely based on good luck for the defender. If that's the case explain the greats who repeat their numbers yearly. You can't, because skill set is an overwhelming factor.
But yeah Lawrence Taylor and Reggie White just seemed to always play bad offenses. Makes sense.

If teams don't want to take sacks, they won't. Brady made a career of not being sacked not because he had the best OL, but because he never gave the defense a chance to get there. That's an offiensive ideology, and there is nothing that even the best pass rushers can do against that.
That's not even considering the fact that if you do not have a good offense you won't rack up big sack numbers because you'll never have a lead.
Harvey Martin would agree with you.Well, that's not exactly my point lol. I agree with what your saying, but my point is more that there's no behavior change tied to the 10 sacks - or any other volume-based goal - so there's really no point?
Habits and effort should be static, regardless of results.
And often times it’s missed by the massesWe all try to be funny at one time or another.
That pair will become a very dominant pair. They will serve strongly at holding together the secondary as well as bind the box area. True linebackers with 'tude.Sam Williams is the newly appointed Hitman's assistant in Qs scheme.
Parsons loves Sam, and Sam loves him some MP, they will both play the balance role for Q, now he can send heat on both sides from edge to LB to safety , probably even corner in a couple of schemes.
This is a very scary back seven coming together rapidly with Kearse and the gang being allowed to roam freely, let's think about that for a moment.
When you have support in front of you and beside you can roam freely and play your game, that is where this defense is at this point IMHO, and why this defense finally becomes what Q envisioned.
I'll set the over/under at 2.5
I'll take the over on the 1st one & pick Sam Williams on the 2nd one.Prediction: Mazi Smith has more sacks this season than Sam Williams.
