Who stays and who goes?

Brandon Carr
Mo Claiborne
Orlando Scandrick
Byron Jones
Corey White
Tyler Patmon
*Joel Ross
*Robert Steeples
*Rod Sweeting

Likely only keep 3 safeties (Church, Wilcox, Heath) because of Jones and White's position flex but that is still too many corners, even if ALL 3 fringe players are cut.

White and/or Jones might play Safety which evens out the numbers.

If everybody is healthy I predict Jones is the #3 CB and White is the #3 Safety.

I'm really intrigued by both Ross and steeples
They hopefully make it too the ps
I think both show lots of potential
How great would it be if as we move on from Carr and Mo if Patmon and one or two of these guys could develope and not have to use high picks on db

I think Jerry Jones indicated that Byron Jones will see more time at safety when he returns

This makes a lot of sense because 1) the position flex of Jones and White to play S, and 2) it's uncertain whether Carr or Claiborne will be here next year.

I think the only question is McCray
He is a good special teams player but no help anywhere else
The only question is do we keep him
Just for st's

Yeah, I kind of just presumed he would make it because of his special teams play. But there are other guys that can contribute in other areas, particularly on offense or defense, that would make it a better move to keep, perhaps.

Like, if it comes down to a ST gunner on McCray, or an extra WR as a KR/PR like Lucky Whitehead, that's a tough decision, but I would go with Lucky.

Would not keep McCray if Hitchens AND McClain are unavailable 1st game.

Really hoping Carr has it complete this year, maybe White can supplant him, somebody blow us all away with 8 + picks....

This is much too soon to say, but this could be the deepest we've been on defense in the past decade, if everyone keeps playing the way they're practicing.

They both make the team. I was meaning I think they all make it on his list.

Much of this is thanks to new quality additions (or welcomes back): Byron Jones has been as advertised, Corey White has been a revelation, and I'll say it now: Mo Claiborne might just end up being the best of them before all is said and done; the kid looks smooth, strong, in control and confident. Plus, he's been the only starter not to miss a practice (although he did miss the San Diego game).
