Cowboys Defense had Zero (0) missed tackles today

Did seem like the defense was on the attack tonight.

After the first drive, when 75% of the board threw in the towel for the year, they looked like a decent defense. It’s just a preseason game with few starters but in the past the teams backups haven’t done well at all and have been losing most of these preseason games.

In case you are wondering ..........

Christian will be a HC in this league very soon.

I need no further evidence of any kind

I know they are only PS games and largely meaningless but I'd still rather have positives like these to take than not.

Even though they were running just vanilla plays, it's nice to see the fundamentals are getting taken care of.

I know the preseason is meaningless but the vibe just felt different last night. There were too many mistakes but it looked to me like guys knew what they were supposed to be doing. Never got that impression with this defense under Eberflus.

WHO CARES ABOUT THAT, what about keeping contain on running QBs!!!???
What about not overreacting that it's a preseason game he's just talking about in general seeing Christian Parker calling his first game with the backup defense against the Super Bowl team on the road with a very big crowd it is what it is stop trying to lift your leg on it because it it's very windy that blowback is happening.. :espn:

If we've learned how to tackle, doesnt that help it?
sure it does but if we can't stop running qb's for example and they're doing to us what they've been doing to us, does it really show that we're getting better (yes I realize it was backups), I want us to be better if it's backups or starters whomever

lol you don't know that!
I actually do It doesn't take rocket science to know that overshown, and Gary, and Quinn Williams, and some of the other starters would have actually done better..

And that's just to name a few but we overhauled our safety room and Downs is the only one was the starter played what three snaps Yeah I'd say that it would be a lot better I can say that with a straight face if you could see my face and I'll try to do it in his little words as possible There are a lot of players on this team that are better than what was out there last night that will play better and yes it will be against other starters But our defense this was the first time we got to see Christian Parker calling the game and he did it with a backup defense on the road in a loud environment And I'll take it.. They showed energy they showed a little swagger even in the scrimmage against the Rams It's not really hard to make that leap I know you don't want to but yes it would be better I do know that..

The other way to prove it is if we play Seattle this year I don't know if they're on our schedule in a regular season but hey bring it on in the playoffs we make the playoffs and play them I'll take it win lose or draw I'll take it.

Here let me give you a good one sam Darnold is not a running quarterback so we'd have been playing him it'd have been different and our starting defense is faster and better than what was out there and there would have been game plans so you're worried that our rookie overplayed that best run of Mill Row or whatever the hell his name is? Yes it happens it's a preseason game these guys This is the first time in real live action where people were hitting tackling and actually trying to move the football for real even though preseason is not real what they've seen up to this point was not truly a game this was the first organized game and it was on the road in a hostile environment these fans were loud because they their team just won..THE SB!

You're sitting here trying to say what you saw last night from the backups against a backup running back to all he can do is run he's a running back so guys overran him a couple times so preseason game number one isn't there like 100 days before the season really starts yeah I think they got they're getting there..

Mostly because we cant pursue and tackle. Running qbs will do damage. Limit it...AND...make them PAY.

Felt like I saw Shamar James get in the backfield and missed a tackle by the foot. Still was impressed with James ability to get In between the tackles and into the backfield.

I like James as backup linebacker

agree he did shoot through there but he MISSED, I hate seeing this!

it's going to cost us, love how you said it pursue and tackle!
Running qbs are successful for a reason. They are good at it. Once they cross scrimmage....they are fair game. Blast 'em. That'll get in their head...and OC will think twice too.
