Chris Johnson rushed 11 times for 45 yards and caught one pass for 10 yards in the Cardinals' fourth preseason game.
He ripped off several chain-moving runs against the Broncos' second- and third-team defenses, showing nice cutback vision and acceleration. Johnson put a move on a defender and gained 10 yards on a swing pass early in the game, and busted through the line on a draw play to pick up 16 yards on a 3rd-and-11. Johnson should be expected to look good against second-team talent, but his acceleration appeared to be intact after an offseason away from football. Johnson should put pressure on Andre Ellington and David Johnson for snaps. Sep 3 - 10:22 PM

I been saying CJ have ALOT left in the tank. Even his old rb coach from the Jets vouche for him. This should have been a no brainer for us but we got cute.

But neither play special teams
Someone has to play special teams and Dunbar does

They don't need a back to play special teams they need back who can push some piles and keep the chains moving in short yardage situations.. Rumors have the Cowboys looking to trade for an RB so it's obvious they're not comfortable with what they have. If they do trade for one or bring one in off the streets it will be at Dunbar's expense unless they keep 4 backs. Dunbar was being fazed out late last season he never saw the ball in the playoffs. Murray's departure is the only reason he's still around. The Cowboys need a big back who can run between the tackles in tight spaces and help move the chains on 3rd and 2's and 3's.

They need someone who can pound the ball in from the 5 yard line. If the Cowboys run into trouble in the running game it will be trying to pick up the tough yards. Randle and McFadden are good in space and will break some long runs but they're not real good in tight spaces which is why McFadden has only averaged 3.3 a carry the past 3 seasons. He and Randle need some room to be effective and Dunbar certainly isn't going help in tough yardage situations.

So every team that make a trade for bottom roster guys are desperate?

These are members of the "I heart Demarco" fan club who are waiting for any opportunity to scream "I told you so" at the first sign the rb plan is not working.

The 3rd RB is gonna have to
Play special teams are he is hard to have active
Hard to have 3 guys at a spot that is prime for special teams who dont

If they "trade" for a back which they may do then they obviously feel a real need so we'll have to see if that player plays special teams and if the Cowboys want to risk them playing special teams. They need a 3rd down back who can pick up those so called "dirty yards" Garrett refers to. If Randle or McFadden can't pick up those yards it's going to lead to issues in the running game we didn't see last season. Murray was the total package we don't have everything he brought to the table with the backs the Cowboys currently have.
