Garrett confirms that Andre Gurode is on a shortlist of centers that the Cowboys are discussing. That list is probably pretty predictable.

With the center position being depleted at the moment right now, I'm not surprised.

If this lower back injury for Costa lingers they will sign Gurode.

He better be in shape.

This is the exact reason Garrett cited when he was asked about bringing in veteran centers early in camp. He said one of the reasons is that they don't know what kind of condition they are in which makes it's so hard to bring in a guy of the street rather than your guys that have participated in your program.

Off topic but who are some of the receivers around the league that could get cut?

I know the Patriots have a jam at receiver and maybe Deion Branch could be cut.

He should not have been released in the first place last year. At that point I believed he still had something left. Hindsight means nothing of course, but if we sign him now it would be a quick acclimation for he and Romo after all those years together.

It has to be the most logical choice, if he's in any shape whatsoever. The quicker he gets up to speed, the better.

I'm definately not opposed to bringing him in and seeing if he's got anything at all left in him.

I admit I didn't really pay much attention to what he did when he left here, honestly don't even remember where he went, but I'd definately give him a look.

Yup. Hopefully he hasn't been hanging out with Tucker.

I think some people have this notion that we have Gurode on a "short list" means that we will be keeping him on the roster after preseason.

If we sign Gurode we should view this as a temporary measure until Costa and Nagy are back practicing.

Nagy should be back in 2-3 weeks.

Nagy won't see another snap this year. He's most likely undergoing surgery for his foot/ankle.

Did I miss something because Nick Eatman or Josh Ellis tweeted that Nagy would be out another 2-3 weeks.

Is that just a guess or have you got some info on that 2-3 weeks? With Jerry saying that in his mind, Nagy is done for the year, it makes me question the 2-3 week timetable.

Garrett said today that Nagy's flying to NC to see a foot specialist and that season-ending surgery is likely. :banghead:

I missed that today in the PC, I started watching it a few minutes after it started.

Well I guess Gurode is looking like a possiblity more an more.

Anyways how did we have 4 centers get injured this season? That's some bad luck for sure. (I'm including Bernadeau)

Yeah, you missed something. Jerry said he didn't expect to see Nagy this year.
