This is a bad pick. No contingency plan in place once their guys were off the board. The war room looked disinterested and they were trying to trade out and couldn’t find a partner— so they forced a pick on a project player when better players were on the board

I don't hate this pick, I hate who they left out there. Smith as a guard won't be a bad thing at all but leaving Jermaine Johnson, Tyler Linderbaum, Nakobe Dean, and Devin Lloyd out there is a head scratcher.

I don't think Tyler Smith would be there at 56 but he's not a value at 24. Just....weird.

That's the only way this pick makes sense is if they move him to gaurd. Anyone who believes he's going to eventually be some cornerstone LT with a little coaching up is going to be very disappointed.
