No worries.

McCarthy said he will play on the left side. With hall of fame Tyron Smith at LT, it's where he will start and likely play LT when Smith misses his 3 games
maybe mccarthy will teach him how to hold like his old green bay lineman. Its also sad weve gotten to the point where we know tyron will miss his annual 3 games. hopefully his replacement is on the roster

He will start. He is mean and nasty. He excels vs the run. That is what I am hearing the Cowboys needed all offseason.
yes Hes a project at Tackle but should be coached up as the LG right now..i mean its not automatic like i said we have guys from last years draft to compete. These fans around the internet are tripping its NOT A REACH he was on their board for reason. NE made a more of headscratcher at OL small school unheard of player, will BB be questioned.??

that why I'm neutral no way to clal this bust, bad mover or great pick..you just accept scouts did their research and he was on their list once all the blue chip prospects with higher grades didn't fall to them...

true.a player has to learn what is being taught, lets see if he takes to NFL coaching.

That's my concern. If he hasn't learned to get his hands inside yet will he ever. He looks like Erik Williams after the accident to me.

I remember when La'el Collins was like that. Then he got cut.
cut over being suspended, out of shape, and cant stay on the field ie injury

not the same..this offseason was knuckhead removal surgery,.,

clueless fans lmao not shock when the scouts choose a player they think is good fit knowitall egomaniacal and very clueless fans freak out..grip that keyboard hard that about the extent of your football knowledge compared to an actual pro staff

Not excited about a penalty ridden OT project from the AAC.

Exactly. At 24 you shouldn't take a player who isn't ready to take NFL snaps.
Now if you are already a stacked team & can afford to take the risk, that's different. This team is clearly not in that position.

I get that the potential to play him at G immediately helps the team while allowing him to develop eases the angst somewhat ..... but honestly unless he just becomes a home run and the players who were available disappoint, it was just another reckless use of a premium pick.

I’m sure it’s been discussed here but what the reason Jermaine Johnson dropped so low? I’ve heard it may be his age but that seems weak…..what do teams know about this guy and did the Cowboys fear they might be getting another Randy Gregory character?

The Cowboys had CAP space to sign a proven LG in FA, instead, they chose to reach in the draft for a project.

I find it a bit annoying that a team that had a ton of issues with penalties from its offensive line just drafted a guy who had 16 penalties last season.

Hard for me to be too excited about this pick, but hoping he turns into a good player.

It’s really apples to oranges from our penalty machine last season.

Williams was a four year starter with NFL coaching. Played in a big program as well.

Smith is from a smaller school, grad student type coaching and still dominated the running game.

One has potential to be elite.

Fans on the board listen to the draft show, Cavanaugh, Voch and Downey who all panned the pick. This reminds me of the drafting of Parsons last season. Smith is not as talented as Parsons but has big upside as an offensive linemen. His personality is probably what the offensive line unit needs right now.

This.

They said it on 105.3 The Fan last night. Just like Parsons, Smith has elite traits, plays mean and brings nasty to the locker room.

As much as I hate that the Joneses are running the draft room and front office, I do like the fact they don’t give away who they like to the media. It’s not the Joneses fault that the Cowboys don’t draft the mediots pet cat. I am disappointed that the shows seemed to only talk about wide receivers and Zion/Green. I think Sam Williams might have been a smoke screen as well.

I’m not mad at the pick and I’m glad they addressed the Oline. His penalty’s are a concern but I’m willing to give the kid a chance before immediately putting him down. This team needed to get more physical upfront and I believe they did that with this pick.

Like i said ill trust the scouting department a Professional scouting department over fans,. media, and any of these so called draft experts. Mock drafts should be called that we can MOCK them all day its not the bible its guide as are ratings and opinions.
I mean would you rather trade 3 firsts for trey lance or grab a daniel jones? somehow the draft experts on board for pics lie that because what it made splash? mistakes are made by all teams top to bottom round 1-7, you simply trust your board and hope for the best..

yes a very boring and uneventful offseason BUT that doesn't mean we wont have good team..soprry that fan thing they need hope through comfort which means big names..

right il take it step farther Cwill had higher floor but Smith has a higher ceiling. Bust or not we will find out but i trust the DC Scouts had a good grade on this kid and think he has shot to be good or they would have went with safer pick..they didn't reach had no reason to do so we have 4 positions of NEED and some were available..IMO not desperation move at all..doesn't mean he will be success but also doesn't mean he will busts.
