Cowboys draft Team Captains

I noticed one common just about every draft pick and even some of the Free Agents it that they all were team captains for their respective teams. I don't think it is by accident as much as it is about what Garrett has talked about in getting the right type of character as well as quality ball players.

In all reality the majority of the players drafted are if not the best but top 3 from their respective colleges. Usually the best players end up being captains so I don't look much into this stuff.

Team captain does not mean nice guy. Witten is a team captain I doubt anyone is going to punch him in the mouth and be standing long afterwards, guy is tough as nails.

I noticed NFLnw made a big deal about how the Falcons and Giants have been drafting team captains.
No mention of Dallas--though they have been doing it for 3 years now.

I didn't say captain, and I was referring to the nice guy attitude. When I say punch in the mouth I don't mean it literally, like walk up and punch him in the mouth. I don't think Witten isn't a tough SOB and probably one of the few that don't fold.

Wow. Team Captain does not necessarily translate to nice wimpy guy who gets pushed around. You can play hard and clean and never quit w/o being a thug on the field.

Team Captain does not mean pansy, it usually means guys that are going to set the tempo of their football team. This can mean a quiet guy that leads by example, a fiery guy that gives the team speech, or a psychopath on the field. It just means the type of person who isn't going to get arrested and embarrass the franchise. RKG's and Team Captains are meant to be people passionate about football, not "soft" players

I don't think this team folds. We may lose some games that we shouldn't, but it is not because we got punched in the mouth and folded.

We've done it with Garrett to mediocre results.

Give me football players. Spare me the RKG nonsense.

For too long our best players.. Romo, Ware, Newman, R.Williams, F. Jones, Witten, Austin and Spencer were not vocal in your face leaders.. We need some Fiery guys..

A lot of teams try to do this.

The Jets drafted five captains on day three. The Giants seven picks were all team captains. The majority of the Falcons choices were team captains.

And by and large, team captains happen to be the better players on their respective teams.

This is not a special practice that indicates a significant direction unique to Jason Garrett and it is kind of comical that there is the attempt to sell it that way.
