I must have missed when this happened -- when did Jakar Hamilton violate the substance abuse policy? And with what? (if reported)

According to league rules, when a player is suspended without pay for a violation of the personal conduct policy, policy and programs for substance abuse, or policy on anabolic steroids or related substances, the team will have to remit to the Management Council a portion of the players’ salary that is deemed forfeited.
Scandrick was suspended for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. Hamilton was suspended for violating the substance abuse program.
With two suspensions, the Cowboys will owe 15 percent of what Scandrick and Hamilton would make over a four-week period. Scandrick will make $750,000 this season. Hamilton will make $495,000. Over four weeks Scandrick would make $176,470 and Hamilton would make $116,470.
Fifteen percent of $292,940 is $43,941.

Good! You want to turn a blind eye to substance abuse and cheating then pay the piper his due! Shoulda been more then maybe Jerry would get a clue about getting and keeping better character players.

That is 2 players of the 90 that were in TC. That is 2.2%
That may or may not be less than other teams. So take 32 businesses, and do a random drug test, I would bet there is a much larger % of those employess that will fail a drug test.
what about those in charge of those places...are they more blind, or do we as customers turn a blind eye to doing business with them or wait until they get better character employees....
:D

Get right down to it, it is 15% of the money that would have been paid to the players that they are not getting now due to suspention

Most companies I know of that have a drug policy in effect will fire you for a failed test... So your point???

Mine does, I smoked weed for a good while until the policy was put in place then at that time I made a choice and that was my job was a bit more important than getting high. Believe me my paycheck is no where close to what Gordon is getting

Many companies only do an intitial drug test, I never seen too many that do random drug tests afterwards.
So they stay clean, get hired, then go back to whatever they normally do.

Doesn't this apply to every team. So why is it a headline when Cowboys have a player suspended. Never saw how much Baltimore had to pay for rice.

Harris County is not one of those places. I have gone 7 to 8 months without being tested then get tested 4 months in a row. Never know around here. A friend of mine asked me how I beat the test I told him it was simple I stopped. lol
