vs.
Root for: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Falcons with their 6 losses can still threaten a wildcard playoff spot. Root for the hapless Bucs.

vs.
Root for: Detroit Lions
The Lions have the worst record in the NFC, and a victory for them would give the Vikings their 8th loss and 5th in the conference, essentially eliminating them from playoff contention.

vs.
Root for: Carolina Panthers
A Panthers victory would almost assuredly knock the Giants out for good in the NFC East. While both teams are in playoff contention, the Cowboys have the #1 tie-breaker on the Panthers when it comes to seeding. The Giants would have the edge on the Cowboys for a division tie-breaker because they would have a stronger division record. Go Panthers.

vs.
Root for: Washington Commanders
It sure seems like we are pulling for the Commanders a lot as of late, and this week for good reason. The Commanders are out of it, and oddly enough the Eagles are the greatest threat to the Cowboys for the NFC East because they can still sweep the season series. Suck it up and hope for a Commanders victory (or Eagles loss if that's more palletable).

vs.
Root for: Green Bay Packers
A Packers victory would knock another team that's hanging on for dear life out of playoff contention. The 49ers should not be a threat, but the more teams that are out of it, the better.

vs.
Root for: Arizona Cardinals
The Seahawks would likely win the seeding tie-breakers with the Cowboys. A Cardinals victory would put Dallas in good position in the NFC.

vs.
Root for: St. Louis Rams
As long as the Cowboys can get the #1 seed we should be rooting against the Bears. While the Rams are still technically in it at 5-7, their 4-5 conference record will hold them back.
Hope that helps, I don't think there should any disagreement.

The two that matter the most is:
Cowboys beating the Saints
Seattle losing

everyone else is looking up at us
and I can't bring myself to root for the skins, EVER.

I think you should switch and pull for San Fran. I'd love to see them sqeak in with the 6th seed and knock out Philly, Giants, or Carolina. I'd much rather play SF than either of those teams!

The Bears are not looking up at us. Any Chicago loss is good at this point.

Sweet. Concise summary - this is the one week I can 'root' for the Skins.

The most important thing is that the Cowboys continue to take care of business and that means a big win over the Saints. Frankly I think we much more likely secure NFC East Division title a week later in Atlanta but because I also want a key seed in the playoffs, we need other teams to help us out. So,

Rooting for the Bucs is easy cause I live just outside of Tampa and normally root for them unless it's for Cowboys that Bucs lose.

I hate both the Skins and the Eagles. Rooting for either one is impossible. So I''ll just let the fates decide and what will be will be.

Detroit & Vikes is no problem as I don't care about either of them. I'll root for whichever team helps the Cowboys. So go Lions.

Don't like the Giants at all and usually don't care about Carolina so I can live with a Carolina win cause I sure want those Giant fans to be brokenhearted.

As for the Bears, I'll root against them for the rest of the season and the postseason.

Cards are going to need more then me rooting for them to beat the Seahawk. Best best for a Seahawks loss is upcoming game against SD on Christmas.

Really can't see the GB-SF game as one we need be concerned about. But if its best for Cowboys, I'll keep careful watch on the scoreboard. Sure hope I can remember everybody I'm supposed to be rooting for.

My "rooting guide" is a little different. SOMEBODY has to win the wild cards. I want the teams that win those to have as little talent as possible. Preferrably Minnesota and San Fran make it in. Those two teams wouldn't scare me at all if they happened to play us. So I root for those two to win, and everyone else to lose.

Atlanta has Vick, and while he's not a great passer, he could cause problems. The Giants have probably the most talent. They could be dangerous. The Panthers have a good D when it shows up and Steve Smith. The Eagles are a division foe, and you never know.... though if they got in I wouldn't lose too much sleep, providing we take care of them on Christmas.

Give me Minny and San Fran. Minny has zero offense and San Fran is, well... San Fran. I wouldn't worry about them even if they were to win out.

Edit: All that said... I think we're going to come out with the 2 seed and a bye, so any wild cards would have to go through NO and/or SEA to get to us.

1) they will be after they lose their first and only playoff game and watch at home while we host Seattle for the NFC championship
2) We're not going to catch Chicago for the #1 seed

distantly
3) we absolutely DON'T want divisional foes making the playoffs. We play them too often and they know us too well. They would be our most difficult foes come playoff time, esp the NYG. I don't want to see philthy there either, but I'm still not rooting for Wash to win....gag

Basically I just want Chicago, Seattle, New York, and New Orleans to lose.

I'm with ya on the Panthers, the 'Skins, the Cards and the Rams. However, no matter what happens the rest of the season, there's still gonna be 6 teams in the playoffs.

I say, root for the Falcons. We get a chance to take care of them on Thursday. Vikings/Lions, GB/SF? Who gives a flying **** in a rollin' donut?

ME TOO!! and my hate used to stop there (ok add in anyone named Manning) but the NYG have really become hatable too. They used to be so docile and just cheesy personalities....but then they go get Shockey, Plax, Arrington, and Tiki and Strahan get pissy and everyone starts mouthing off....
I hate them equally now too.
I don't want to see ANYONE in our division in the playoffs.

Screw that... I want as many completely demoralized teams these last 3 games as possible. Boring wins are better than fun losses.

Are there any Cardinals in the whole state of Arizona??? With that goofy looking bird on their helmet, its like a joke. Who on earth is scared of a stupid Cardinal??? They have plenty of fearsome wildlife in the desert - Bobcats, Rattlers, Scorpions - not to mention the Heat, the Venom, the Talons, etc. Any name but the lame assed "Cardinals" - no wonder they don't scare anyone!!!

I want the Eagles to beat the Skins personally. I have more hate for the Skins and more importantly the Eagles in the playoffs certainly do not scare me.

Rooting for the Bronco's also. Commanders have their first rd. Draft pick, so the more they win the lower that pick will be.
