Hope that helps, I don't think there should any disagreement.

Of course there's disagreement...how many times do we older, longtime fans have to tell you, there is never...Never...NEVER...any appropriate time to pull for the freakin' Skins, man.

I hope Garcia looks like the league MVP and Philly totally embarrasses the Skins and their new QB...again.

I will never pull for the Skins against anyone, anytime, for any reason.

You NEVER, under any circumstances, root for the Deadskins!!! If my life depended on a Commanders win...I'll happily be a Cowboy's Angel!

I admire your fervor and consistency, Wayne.

But as much as I hate the Skins, I want to see even the despised Sean Taylor drawing a bead on Garcia and Company today.

I'd love to see Philly pounded into the ground so deep they don't get mentioned again this year - even if the hammer is applied by the Skins.

I'm with your underlying sentiment LT... but I'm not going to actively root for anyone in this game. I'll root for the meteor, or maybe a 3-2 win for the Skins.

This would be like watching the Niners and Steelers in the Super Bowl... would you actually "root" for someone? Or just watch the game to see who wins, but be a completely disinterested witness?

Rooting for the skins any place, anytime, for any reason is a sacrilege.....;)

Rooting for the Bronco's also. Commanders have their first rd. Draft pick, so the more they win the lower that pick will be.
I think it's more complicated than that, unfortunately. If the gap between the two teams (Commanders and Broncos) gets too big, then the value of that difference will be outside of the range in the trade agreement, thereby causing the Commanders to keep their 1st rounder and give up their 3rd and 4th or some such thing instead.

Has anybody figured out about where these picks would need to be for the Commanders and Broncos to flip in the first? Regardless of value, that would be the most demoralizing of options IMO.

Are there any Cardinals in the whole state of Arizona??? With that goofy looking bird on their helmet, its like a joke. Who on earth is scared of a stupid Cardinal??? They have plenty of fearsome wildlife in the desert - Bobcats, Rattlers, Scorpions - not to mention the Heat, the Venom, the Talons, etc. Any name but the lame assed "Cardinals" - no wonder they don't scare anyone!!!

I know OT, but I'll bite quickly.

The Cardinal has a long history of being the mascot of that franchise. There are lots of mascots that don't necessarily invoke fear to opponents and lots that aren't geographically-specific.

Also these guys are professionals. To think that they look on the other side of the ball and have a sense of fear because they're facing a "fear invoking" mascot is a little elementary IMO.

Amazingly, there's not much going on this weekend that affects the Cowboys significantly. In the 1 o'clock EST range we've got the Panthers; in the 4 o'clock range, we've got the Cardinals; tonight we've got our Cowboys; and Monday night we've got the Rams. Everything else is either meaningless or ambiguous.

I make a distinction between "rooting for the Skins" (which I pretty much can't physically do) and "understanding the reasons that a Skins win helps the Cowboys". There are sometimes games that fall into the latter category for me. Today, I understand that there are a number of reasons a Skins win would help the Cowboys. I won't be rooting for the Skins but I'll be understanding the positive aspects of a Skins win as the game progresses. Allows me to (almost) fully enjoy Skins losses and (almost) not care about Skins wins.

Sweet. Concise summary - this is the one week I can 'root' for the Skins.

Yes, but it needs to be an ugly win. :D
Don't want to give them any hopes now do you?:laugh1:

since the game is now over (PHI won), next week I will not be "rooting" for the Eagles nor the Giants. I hope they destroy each other...and we take out the garbage later!:starspin

For me, my love of the Cowboys trumps my hate for the Commanders. Though today's pitiful performance makes me hate them even more.
