Cowboys fans divided on whether the team can still win the NFC East

Philly has an easy schedule, but its not that easy. Philly still has to play NYG twice and at Dallas. Dallas has NYG and Phil at home.

If Philly splits with the Giants and Dallas beats Philly in Dallas, Dallas has the division lead. Of course Dallas can still win the division.

That cup cake Eagles schedule is going to be the deciding factor.

The Giants surely can't keep winning these tight games..... surely? Bonus though is Jones may get a contract if they keep going so hinder them going forward.

My bias worries me im blind but I see nothing in Hurts. Simple 1st read then run, how he's getting noise for MVP is beyond me. Ds are going to find a way, I just think the Ws they've stacked will see them over the line.

The eagles may have the 72 Dolphins' schedule, but they aren't the 72 Dolphins.

they are the legit best team in football right now though and to catch up to them is going to be tough even with beating them on Xmas…impossible if we lose to them on Xmas

I mean when you're 5-2 and 3rd in the division it would cause a split

Teams keep giving the giants games and Philly keeps winning

we might be in the playoffs as 2nd wildcard seed winning 11 games

The 1970 season:

It was a 14 game season in which the Cowboys were 5-4 after the first 9 games.

The Cardnals, who used to be in the division were 7-2.

The Giants were 6-3.

By the end of the seasons the Cardinals were 8-5-1.

The Giants were 9-5.

The Cowboys were 10-4.

The Cowboys would go on to play in their first Super Bowl.

This team could win the NFC East with some Eagles losses, but Philly's schedule is so soft (and they are so good) that I doubt they are going to lose more than 2 or 3 games. I expect them to finish no worse than 13-4. While the Giants have proven to be better than expected, they will still pick up some losses and we are likely to finish with around the same record as them at 11-6 or 12-5. All things considered, a division championship is likely already out of reach.

While winning the division is the goal every year, the most important thing is just to get into the playoffs while playing good football. The Cowboys are playing great defense and if the offense can get its act together, this squad has a great chance to go the distance. Becoming hyper fixated on the division is a fallacy. The prize is bigger than that and very much within reach.

The NFC is wide open this year, and being the 5 or 6 seed is not a huge disadvantage due to the lack of superpowers. Dallas is in a great spot.

The NFC is wide open but our illustrious GM seems to don't mind and don't care about winning it. Yes the Eagles are a tough opponent with an easy schedule. But the FO seems to be content with what we have. We don't need much really. Just a wideout that can command double teams and open up the passing game for our other wide receivers to get open.

I wish we didn't Gallup the contract. We should have given to Wilson or just let Gallup walk. I'm not sure if he will recover fully from his injury and until proven otherwise, it seems to have affected him.

Either that or double down on the run defense and go get Roquan Smith.

2 games back going into week 8 and the cowboys get to play them again. How quick people lose hope absolutely amazes me.
Yes, and the IGGLES still have to play the GIANTS twice yet. decent chance they split those. if we beat them in BIG D, theres the 2 game difference right there. and you know they will have some let down game and lose to someone they shouldn't have between now and the end - every team does. they are good, not great- not going to go undefeated this whole year.

Can they? Yes duh.

Will they? Remains to be seen

So much football left. Id like to see this offense vs a good team. But i'll take this team dominating weaker opponents for now. Dak was better in his 2nd game but he faced the leagues worst defense. Need to see the offense match the defense vs good teams.

If we're depending in the Giants to beat the Eagles we are in trouble. We just need a few pieces in place like a speedy wideout and better run defense.

I, for one, am thrilled that the NFC East is improving big time. Any team winning the East the last few years has been fools gold and all but garunteed a quick exit in the playoffs

some of us have beeen pointing out that a 12 win season in the East was overrated…..but now it will mean something more……at least in the NFC

Can’t blame them for being divided it’s going to be tough being in a division with the only undefeated team in the NFL. The Cowboys are in third place right now, so they don’t have a lot of room for error the rest of the way, unless Philly hits the skids. They’re likely to win 13+ games with their remaining schedule. They could possibly make it to through November before they lose a game. If the Cowboys get down by three games to them, they’re done and will be battling for a wild card
