Cowboys fans divided on whether the team can still win the NFC East

The Cowboys got back to their winning ways this past Sunday when they beat the Lions 24-6. The game marked the return of Dak Prescott to the team, giving it a complete feel for the first time since Week 1. While the offense didn’t exactly break out with Prescott under center, they did take advantage of some late-game turnovers to put points on the board and sew up the victory.

The victory helped the Cowboys keep themselves in the running for the NFC East title, where they trail a 6-0 Eagles squad, and a 6-1 Giants team. Can the Cowboys actually catch those teams and take home the NFC East crown in 2022? We asked, and you guys were pretty divided on the answer with 49% of respondents saying yes, the Cowboys can still win the NFC East.

lmao! It ain't over until the fat lady sings. Many more games to be played...

Fake News! Us Cowboy fans are not divided...Us Cowboy fans fight for the NFC-e...

Take that first step up that mountain. No, Cowboy fans are not divided, it's more just frustration that our team puts us through. The division between all Cowboys fans is because we all want the same thing.

But just live the dream...time for some good herb, some good time blues out of Austin, TX. and I'm good to go.

One step at a time.

I'm not sure we will win the East but it has nothing to do with whether or not they are good enough. The Eagles just have a lead, right now, that seems like it will be tough to conquer with their powder puff schedule.

I don't fear any team in the East, to be honest. I think if we meet either the Giants or Eagles in the playoffs that we'll smoke their ***.

I keep hearing about how easy the Eagles schedule is… but I’m looking at the Cowboys schedule and it looks pretty much the same. Yes they played the Bengals and the Bucs… well Tampa Bay sucks this year, and Joe Burrow wasn’t fully ready after his surgery before the season. If anybody is being honest, it’s pretty clear the cowboys caught those teams at the right time. The Rams are down as well. I really don’t see any difference in the schedules.

An article expressing Cowboy's fans are divided is like a scintillating column on water is wet.

I was thinking that the thread title could have been stopped after the first three words and been completely accurate.

We lost to the Bucs ... not sure that's catching them at the right time, unless you are talking about Philly.

Yeah I know…was mainly referring to Bengals and Rams

OK. The "well Tampa Bay sucks" part threw me off because they certainly didn't suck against us. We sucked against them, at least on offense.

2 games back going into week 8 and the cowboys get to play them again. How quick people lose hope absolutely amazes me.
I’m with ya. Dallas still has the the Eagles and Giants to play at home and should win both of those games. That means they just have to lose 1 less than the Eagles and the same as the Giants, both of which are reasonable. Then it falls to tie-breakers.

Pet peeve - "Can" is so often used in placememt of "will" or "did."

The Cardinals were 7-0 to start last season. Crap happens. Teams go into slumps. Too early in the season to make that prediction. I know one thing for sure, Washington isn't winning the division.

They absolutely can still win thr East. It's WAY too many games left for this conversation

There is a lot of season left. But looking at the schedules of the 3 teams in contention I would say the Eagles are going to be hard to pass with Dallas already having 2 losses.

The strange thing though is the Giants play the NFC East teams 5 times in their last 7 games. The Eagles don't face the Giants for the first time until Dec 11th! They could clinch the division by the time they face Dallas a second time. Honestly, I look at the Eagles schedule and I think the only team that can beat them is Dallas.

The Giants have the Eagles twice, Dallas and Minnesota. The rest of their schedule looks weak, although I think the Seahawks at home could surprise them this week.

Of course it is mathematically possible for the Cowboys to win the division, a lot can happen in 10 games, but given the schedules, the Cowboys will need help from the injury gods to win the division. I do think the Giants will lose some games though.

I don't think the Eagles will continue to be a serious threat. I think their offense will falter as teams defend them like they do the Ravens. It's a high school offense and there's a reason most teams in the NFL shun it, but it works until defenses simply box in the quarterback and play good pass defense.
The Giants are for real and getting better, but their first defeat at the hands of the Cowboys will linger in their minds, giving Dallas the edge.
So the only team I see that can beat the Cowboys is themselves. Just like against the Lions, if the Cowboys offense shuts down for three and a half quarters, teams better than the Lions will take advantage of that and the Cowboys could suffer some preventable losses that might knock them from contention for the East title.
Defense wins championships, but a poor offense could really hurt the Cowboys as the season wears on.
We'll see.

Keep drinking that coolaid...Drink some more!

Yep...still living in that dreamworld. 26yrs and counting.

I have it on good authority that what fans believe doesnt matter, so you shouldnt even discuss it.

Can? Of course they can, just like the Rams might go on a run like the Bengals did last season.

They're 2.5 out of 1st and .5 out of 2nd place and none of the 3 teams have a tough schedule from here on out.

However, the Cowboys have to stay healthier than the other two because the NYG have already proven they can play with their starting WR corps out.

Can't have Elliott and Parsons out in games because there is no D in the league more dependent on one player than Dallas. This D is a very ordinary one without Parsons to keep the OC and QB occupied.

I respectfully disagree as do most of the experts out there. However I do think they are beatable but going to be har.
I think Buffalo is pretty widely believed to be the best team this season. Philly struggled with Jax, Zona, and Detroit

I dont believe we can win the east, Imm not saying its impossible but odds are stacked against us at the moment.

eagles and NY out early with nice records and might be hard to able 2 other teams vs 1 to get the east this season. we will easily IMO be a WC team

playing against non playoffs team tho, eagles beat the cowboys, vikes and the potential playoffs hopeful cards. if the eagles sweep the giants no way anybody else has a chance.
