Im sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I do have some questions. When you said police would not let you drop off your FIL, did you ask them where you were allowed to drop him off? Even if you couldnt find a specific spot, you could have EASILY dropped him off with someone at the Walmart, or the corner, or a myriad of places. IM thinking AT&T would not violate ADA laws. There had to be somewhere to drop him off safely that was much more accessible for him. For wheelchair guests, people in wheelchair have designated ADA seats. It would be up to all of us to make sure we knew that in advance. I am certainly not trying to discount the frustration you and your family had with this experience, but some of that falls back on you. I would hope you someday can return to have a much better experience. If you go, I will go and I will hook you up with the best tailgate

Thanks Reid. Most of the difficulties of that day have faded. My father-in-law passed in 2022 at age 93. He had never been to a Cowboys game and he was grateful that he got to see one. It was worth it just for that.

I would rather drive to Austin and attend a Longhorns game and hang out on 6th street.The Cowboys will never get a dime from me until they win a Super Bowl. I could easily afford to go to a Cowboys game but I would rather by an ounce of gold or two kilos of silver.

Can some one break it down to me. So tax payers pay for the stadium and then the team just rakes in the cash or how does it work?

The tax payers in Arlington helped pay the price of construction of around 250 million dollars. The Cowboys lease the stadium from the city. The city got their money back in revenue within 2-3 years at the most. Most government spending is just given away to something and the cost is never repaid so there is a difference. Instead of spending it on useless government beaucracy, they decided to invest in the city to draw retail and restaurants. The tax used to pay for the stadium was probably from rental cars and other taxes that didn't impact the citizen.

The Horns won one in 2005 that's a lot more recent than 1995.

It's not just AT&T stadium. When Dallas goes on the road, tickets are expensive. When they last played in Nashville, my son and I decided to go. Tickets the week before against Jax were like $85 for the seats we got. The very next week when Dallas rolled into town, those same seats were $400. This year, we are planning to go to Indy to see the Cowboys. Tickets for the colts/titans game in indy are going for as low as $53. Tickets for the Cowboys are going for as low as $200. That's for tickets in lvl 625 which is at the top of the stadium in the endzone. terrace level 540 are going for $765. Its insane. Terrace level 540 are going for $260 for the Titans game.

It’s a shame it’s not affordable for average Americans. And we wonder why we don’t have Diehard fans instead the wine and cheese crowd.

I grew up attending games as a teenager. And attending several games a year. Even higher end middle class families can’t afford to attend a few games a year much less one .

What also sucks is a business owner can purchase a luxury box at the SB for 1/4 million while leasing a Lear jet for the weekend and write it all off on their taxes under the “wine and dine” tax deduction. It’s so the can talk business but how much of that is happening at the SB

Average Joe can sit at home and commune with other average Joes on Cowboy message boards. I love my Cowboys but I can take that several thousand dollars and buy a new high grade firearm or new bass boat toys and then I'll have them for years tangibly!

Goodell and the content providers are working tirelessly to make watching at home unaffordable as well.

And Guaranteed that business owner who purchases a luxury box and leases a Lear Jet put in his/her time educating themselves so that they could excel in life. How many jobs has that business owner created, how much of his money is spread throughout the community? Why people always insist on counting other people’s money baffles the hell out of me.

I did enjoy my one trip with a son to watch the Cowboys.

But watching Bixby play Owasso in a championship game with the other son in smaller venue while the bands and students from the two school battled along with the teams on the field was a highly satisfying experience.

The silver lining to this, is Cowboys stadium isn't heavily taxpayer funded., so at least you aren't paying double, for the stadium so the owner doesn't have too and the tickets... there still is revenue-sharing though....
