Cowboys fans we have to fix it now

Once and for all. the secondary must be fixed. i read all these post about WR's and RB's and other things.but this secondary is and has been the biggest problem on this team for years. if you don't have people who can cover and get off the field. you will not win. we need to get a vet in here who can take A. henry's job. we can not go into another season counting on Henry. he has been hurt the last 3 years, and is to slow to play CB now. we need a good corner on the other side of Newman. we also need to use one of our top picks on a Corner. get J. reeves and Nate Jones, out of here fast. both these guys are terrible. now to Roy williams. he either has to go. which i don't see. or he has to be the highest special teams player in NFL history. he can not start here anymore.PERIOD! he flatout stinks. move Hamlin to SS, and give Pat watkins or Courtney Brown a chance. or Draft a FS on the fist day too. it has to be done folks. as long as we keep saying the secondary on need a 3rd corner. we are kidding ourselves. this secondary needs a complete overhaul. how many of you agree with me on this?

But when you are giving 8-10 yard cushions, I don't care what CB you are, you are gonna give up a lot of underneath routes. That was my biggest complaint last season. The CB's played way too far off.

Also with Reeves, are you gonna let all that experience that he gained last year get away? I mean the guy was tested all year long. I would think that he would improve next season.

I respect your opinion on this. but i think you are kidding yourself. experience is not the problem with Reeves and Jones. they are just terrible players. Reeves could play here 5 more years. he will not get any better. he flatout sucks. as for Henry. we can not go into another season with this guy as a starter. it's the same thing every year.Henry starts the season, and get's hurt and misses half the season. and does not play well after he comes back. we can not have that anymore folks. we need to go out and get a starting corner on the other side of Newman.Roy williams, is flatout terrible. he can't cover and he can't tackle. he may be the worse starting ss in the NFL. and he had no business in the pro bowl. we just flatout disagree on this. we must overhaul this secondary now.

This is no game. this is a hugh problem that we have not fixed yet. and it has killed us for years. Jerry can spend all the money he wants on QB's, WR's and RB's. but until he gets this secondary fixed. no super bowl.

best i remember didnt Henry start every game in 2006... and played in 13 games this season and got 6 ints...1 for TD.....?

3 missed games in 2 years not bad ...and when he is in he plays well.........check your stats before you bash good players...........he may not be the top CB in the league but hes a great second.....its our third that needs work and I wouldnt get rid of Reeves just yet......he was getting targeted last seaon .....because Henry and Newman had the others covered.........hes getting experience and deserves more time......but we must get some insurance via draft......

I'd like to keep Reeves as a 4 but i think we do need an upgrade at 2.

As for the complaints on Henry...meh. I don't agree with them at all. He's a pretty solid 2.

Starter: Anthony Henry – I admit to having a love/hate relationship with Anthony Henry. There are times when he looks like the perfect complement to Newman as our #2 CB. His size allows him to match up well with the increasingly bigger WR’s in the league. He also uses his physicality to play the run well. The problem is a CB his size should be able to bump WR’s off their routes at the line of scrimmage, but because of his suspect recovery speed, too often he has to play off the receiver to protect against getting burned deep. Another problem is his penchant for getting nagging injuries. He’s yet to complete a full season without injury in Dallas and forces the Cowboys to dig deeper into the cornerback personnel which is a weakness on the team. He’s also advancing in age and could start reaching a point of diminishing returns.


I realize that the Cowboys could definitely do worse than Henry as their #2 corner and stat guru K.C. Joyner describes Henry as one of the most underrated players in the league. I’m not ready to go that far because I’ve seen Henry give up big receptions in crucial situations too many times. It’s true he gets picked on more because teams shy away from throwing at Newman, but it’s all about making plays in the NFL and Henry can give them up at the most inopportune times. The Cowboys really need to start looking at the future and bring in some cornerbacks to compete with Henry, or at least learn the ropes in anticipation of Henry’s departure down the line.

For the last time.it's not the passrush. we need better players who can cover people.PERIOD!i said before the season that sooner or later Reeves and Jones, who get us beat. in the 2 biggest games of the year NE and the Giants in the playoffs.that touchdown Reeves gave up before the half, was big. all the plays on that drive was against him. he gave up 71 yards in 47 seconds. that TD before the half killed us.Henry is a 3rd corner at best.he's to slow. and he gets hurt every year.he can not take a chance with him anymore. we need a starter on the other side of Newman.

I agree with you. Roy williams, has been flatout terrible the last few years. this past season, he was pitiful. he cant cover and he cant tackle. he is what he is.the guy can't play anymore.and he can not be the starter for us at SS anymore. Himlin need to move there. and we need to find a FS.

Another thing. the point of this thread is this secondary needs more than just one or two players.it needs a complete overhaul. other than Newman and Hamlin. that means all jobs are open. we need a massive overhaul back there.
