If this is a Hugh problem, let him fix it.

I like it. i have no problem with those picks.only i would take Kelly or Sweed at WR.
Hey tomson, I don't think he got it. Cowboyroc, did you even read what tomson wrote or did you just reply without even knowing what you are replying to? Did you mean "HUGE" as in huge problem or HUGH as in Hugh Millen?

Its been our offense that has let us down in the playoffs the last 2 years...
well last year our offense had a great 10 minute drive that resulted in a touchdown. which wound up giving us a 14-7 lead with a minute to play in the 1st half. than our defense gave up a td in 40 seconds. not to mention the afwul tackling on the giants 1st td.

I saw that too. I'll let slide because he complimented my wishlist. :D

...or maybe my jokes just suck.

Yea, we then proceded to score what, 3 points in the second half?

For the last time.it's not the passrush.
Maybe not entirely, but it's undeniably a part of the problem.

I mean, take a look at the Giants. Madison? Webster? McQuarters? Now there's an all-star secondary. Yet they held the pass happy Patriots to 14 points.

Why?

Because of players like Strahan, Umenyiora, and Tuck.

Since other than Ware we dont have those kind of passrushers. we better get people who can really cover. you may as well give it up on this. everybody knows this secondary is a big problem that must be fixed.

:hammer: correctamundo! if roy is our starting ss next year were gonna have to wait another year to win a bowl.

Whatever man. Roy will be fine for us this year. Wades d will be much improved and Roy wont have to cover as much

6th in YPA, 5th in QB rating allowed, one of the fewest big play totals surrendered in the league, and all this with Jacques Reeves sucking up space for most of the year.

Consider it fixed.

I agree with you. Roy williams, has been flatout terrible the last few years. this past season, he was pitiful. he cant cover and he cant tackle. he is what he is.the guy can't play anymore.and he can not be the starter for us at SS anymore. Himlin need to move there. and we need to find a FS.

What are you.. 15 maybe? lol the punctuation is awful.

Hamlin* needs to stay at FS. You don't move a probowler to a different position. He is a pro bowl FS, why would you move him to SS?

Pass rush is what makes great secondary's look great. Period. You can't throw when your on your back. Ask the Giants, there db's are pretty weak but they dont have to cover for very long b/c the qb's on the ground.

Everybody?

I'm not sure it's come up for a vote yet, but anyway, I do agree with your basic point: that our secondary is not what anyone would consider "very good." But an overhaul? Eh...

I sure would love to replace Williams. And yeah, Henry doesn't seem to be very dependable with all those nagging injuries.

I'd say we need some youth...scratch that...quality youth at corner and for God's sake...someone please find something to do with Roy. I don't care what it is. Garbage collector. Plumber. Whatever. Just not strong safety...or any safety for that matter.

The bottom line is we need to get younger at the CB position. Henry as a #2 is really pushing it because he's certainly not going to get any better. We need playmakers in the secondary. When was the last time you remember a CB or S picking a ball off and eluding numerous tackles and taking it to the house? Yeah, it's been a while. That's why we need Aquib Talib. He is a playmaker.

#22: CB Aqib Talib (3rd CB, push Henry for #2 CB)
#28: WR Mario Manningham (A bonified deep threat who would compliment Owens)

I seem to recall Newman picking off a pass and taking it to the house on thanksgiving. But he just outran everyone haha

Stats are for losers. the bottom line is we could not stop people from passing when it counted. see the giants going 71 yards in 47 seconds. that was the turning point in that game. it cost us big. denial is not the way. we have to fix it.

You my friend are right on the money. this secondary needs playmakers.a band-aid will not help. we need an overhaul.

who do we let go? You can't cut Newman, Henry, Hamlin, Watkins or williams.

Keith Davis is gone already. Brown is young and has a lot of upside. Reeves is decent at least. Nate Jones is good at blitzing, but that could easily be replaced.

Thanks, man. I get goosebumps about our defense if we had a solid corner opposite Newman that can from time play great man coverage, which would allow Hamlin to play centerfield and maybe even let Roy blitz more.

Get Roy williams, J.Reeves and Nate Jones, out of here.make henry a 3rd corner. and draft someone to be the 4th corner. it can not remain the same.

Just replacing J. Reeves, wont solve the problem.you still have Roy williams, and people like Nate Jones. you want a band-aid. we have tried that. it's time for an overhaul.
