Yes, but only 2 of them are inside guys. Instead of big heavy DE's you need OLB's those that can go backwards as well. We have a good one in Eze, now need another

It doesn’t really mean anything.

Avg tenure for current DCs in the NFC is 2 years. Take out Bowles (outlier at 7 years) and it’s 1.75.

Good point from Nova. If you hire the right guy, in theory you can build a pipeline should that coach leave. We had an opportunity with Al Harris once DQ left.

But , I understand most here want something positive to cling to, to give them hope for next year.
Me, I have very low expectations.

I agree but the positive ( for me ) was getting rid of Parsons and Diggs and getting team guys like Clark and Quinnen.

I want this defense built in their image rather than the 2 we jettisoned.

The positivity remains until the draft and FA period which determines if that positivity remains

He has a strong base of assistants throughout the league. I imagine he would bring a couple with him, one of whom he could groom.

Flores would be tremendous as a culture changer on the defense.

Think about it. Matt Eberflus for all his shortcomings didn't hire himself into that position nor did he construct the roster.

Yeah but only 2 backers are really the traditional off ball types. Your outside backers are just smaller DEs. Honestly clowney, EZ, and an early draft pick would give you a pretty good 3-4 front with the DTs we already have in house.

Al Harris knew the guys we had on defense and how Jerry resists getting real talent in FA

Harris would have failed badly here too with this roster and was smart to leave
