Cowboys FS Ken Hamlin "might not see the third year" of his six-year, $39 million contract if he doesn't revert to 2007 form.

Hamlin played at a Pro Bowl level on his one-year deal in 2007, but he struggled last year after landing the mega deal. The Cowboys need to develop some talent alongside Hamlin if they're going to seriously consider cutting him next offseason.

What would his cap hit be, should there be a cap, if he were to be cut at that point? I'd think that how big that is will be a huge factor in that if he doesn't return to form.

After he got his contract he didn't play like his first year, and we drafted a few safeties. I would tend to agree with this.

Well i think all the pressure was on him last year after Roy got hurt. Now hopefully with Sens. back there he can return to that form. Baring any injuries.

You have two rookies playing at CB a lot, then the old man Henry there as well, and a loser next to you playing Safety. I am not saying he played well because he didn't, but I would also say he probably had some good reasons at least part of the time.

Henry is gone to Detroit. We got Kitna for him.

Uh, no. When people misread something it doesn't mean they're owned. People who read a lot can do that from time to time.

Exactly....no way we keep him around another year if he continues to play like he did last year. I am hoping with GS playing next to him this season it will give more stability and allow him to make more plays.

It's always a concern. You give a guy a big contract and he takes things off. We never had to worry about that with Larry Allen. Jay Ratliff has done well too. Can't really speak for the others. They've either been hurt all the time or not produced accordingly.

As an owner, if I sign your check and you're half-assing it, we're having a meeting as to why.

I would just like to wait and see, barring injury he wil be the starting FS. I still feel he is a very good player.
