Cowboys FS Ken Hamlin "might not see the third year" of his six-year, $39 million contract if he doesn't revert to 2007 form.

Hamlin played at a Pro Bowl level on his one-year deal in 2007, but he struggled last year after landing the mega deal. The Cowboys need to develop some talent alongside Hamlin if they're going to seriously consider cutting him next offseason.

This is a classic case of "got paid & mailed it in"...

Cut him now?????????

Don't think so. There was a reason the Clemson Hamlin fell people. I'm pulling for him to be a cover and as much a FS as a SS but don't be surprised if he struggles. He looks like an all-pro safety but now he has to play the part. If we get the 2007 Hamlin then ok. Last year he didn't impress a lot of people not just me. So they both had something in common besides their last names.

Roy Williams Pat Watkins and Killer were lined up next to him last year. Really inspiring the confidence there wasn't it? Then as I pointed out the 4 guys that played CB no two started in the same place for more then a few games.
The secondary was in constant uproar and confusion. So I give Hamlin a LITTLE mulligan for last year. This year should be VERY different. Sensebaugh is by far the best cover safety we have had since Woody. We know who the top 3 CBS are going to be and none of them are slow like Henry was and needed to be protected. THIS year there are no excuses and I think Hamlin was stung a lot by the criticism- I believe he has the pride and grit to make this a much better year.
