Have the Cowboys reached a point of no return. For years, Garrett was blame for this team poor showing now he's gone and things are even worse. With young veterans overpaid the future with possible coaching changes in the next year or two. The future is bleak. Not much has changed over the past 25 years. At least I'm older enough to remember the team of the 90s. Memories...

Garrett was a symptom of the problem. The horrible culture is the biggest symptom of the problem. No accountability and the checks don't bounce is and has been the culture for too long.

I share your understanding of these big picture issues and it is the main source of my continued apathy towards this team.

Since any team's successes begin at the top and filter down throughout it, then we're in big trouble for the long haul.

Be content to be entertained or be willing to endure the frustration of an endless supply of disappointing seasons. o_O

Injuries. No offseason.

Gutted this team.

Not McCarthy's fault.

Another crop of players gone to the wood shredder.
Rebuild # 100 coming up....

Sad to see the Smith/Frederick/Martin/Collins dream evaporate this year.

2014 Tony was playing at MVP level, Dez All Pro, Murray rushing champion.

And we pick up Collins to *add* to Smith/Leary/Frederick/Martin/Free. I had dreams of Collins playing from FB to get them all on the field at the same time.

2015 Tony is out, but that just gives us a huge draft haul in 2016. And then Tony goes down again, but the line is even more dominant than it was in 2014, with Zeke looking even better than Murray, and Dak having one of the best rookie QB seasons ever! New dynasty, baby!

Zeke suspended, Tyron bad back, Dez and Williams exposed in 2017. But Dlaw with 14.5 sacks! War Daddy, baby!

Frederick with GB in 2018, but LVE and Jaylon look like the up and coming best LB duo in 2018. DLaw still with 10.5 sacks!

DLaw with 5 sacks in 2019. LVE breaks. Jaylon slides all year, looking increasingly gimpy. Frederick isn't the same, but next year! And Gallup is a #1!

2020, Garrett finally gone! Yay! But Frederick retires. Wah! But look at all the wonderful free agents we're signing for the defense! No more dumpster diving this year! And what a draft! Jackpot!

And then - ugh - 2020.

Along with the slow slide of the oline, we had flashes of greatness that flamed out in Zeke, Jaylon, DLaw, LVE.

Now it's an older oline, maybe a QB, and talented WRs.

Jerry is not only inept as a GM he is also unlucky.
Guess that deal he made with the devil in 95 to win his 3rd SB is being paid....:(

"Future" as it pertains to football can be very short lived. Next year could be totally different. Hopefully the emphasis will be on defense. We've got a few quitters on that side of the ball.
