Cowboys gave up 76 yard rushing on 30 carried

2.5 yard average. Did a very good job on 1st rounder Najee Harris

Good first step for a major trouble spot last year

That I can agree, but Ben didnt play. They also have one of the worst Olines in football so nothing too earth shattering there. I thought Harris looked tentative and uncomfortable. Probably used to monster holes and just running straight. LOL Im sure he will be much better as the season moves along.

Ya Im not quite ready to reserve a Doomsday 2021 custom, but its an encouraging start. Especially early

Bo and OO look promising. I think I only saw 1 instance where a double team pushed Bo back. Most of the night, he held his ground and even got quite a bit of penetration. OO was definitely shooting those gaps well. Trysten Hill better get to work ASAP…Watkins, Gallimore, Bo, and OO almost look like locks right now (to me anyway).

It's hard to evaluate the defense without all the starters playing. I'll reserve judgment until the dress rehearsal game against the Texans. Plus, Jerry is going to want to win that Governer's Cup back. I can't wait to see Gregory and DLaw on the field together in a game.

Pretty spot-on observation and Hill is still not impressing anyone.

Dallas fans have been so damaged psychologically, that any positive posts are met with doubt, negativity, and disdain.

"Good catch", but he didn't score. The ball was late. The fans are too quiet. Jaylon, celebrated and he doesn't play offense. My back hurts. Receiver "X" is better. QB "X" is better. Why wasn't Zeke in the game?...

By the way, I know it is the first game of preseason, a bunch of players are being evaluated, and everyone has an opinion. But, why can't a good catch, just be a good catch?

Perfect weather playing against scrubs. Anyone could've caught it. :muttley:(I've heard that so often here in reference to someone else LOL)

I'm more worried about the pass rush than the run defense. We added nothing but run defenders along the DL at the expense of an already suspect pass rush. I'm not sure that's very wise in a pass happy league.

You have to stop the run if you want to be able to rush the passer.. I'm pretty sure adding Gregory and Lawrence to the line up will fix a lot of the pass rush issues.

Here we go, overrating Randy Gregory again.

Him and his whopping 10 career sacks….

Come on Risen , its not like Lawrence and Gregory were there and we didn't see any pass rush ? But if you meant interior pass rush , thats going to take time, one thing at a time , we need to stop the run bleeding first.

If you can't see the impact Gregory can bring that's your problem. Most of his career has been spent playing without the benefit of training camp and offseason workouts with the team. He's basically been asked to come off the street and play NFL football. This will be the first time since he was drafted that we get to see what he looks like with a full offseason of preparation to go with his freakish ability. I'm going to lean towards him wrecking shop versus being a JAG. YMMV.

Vanilla offense, no specific game plan to attack the particular opponent, and a bunch of back ups. That's the HOF "game".

I wouldn't read much into last night if it was 76 yards or 176 yards.

Taking what everyone has said into account "Preseason, No Big Ben, bad OL"... if we gave up 8 yards a carry we'd be screaming to blow the defense up.

Great job with the team we had, vs the team we played, under the conditions we had to play. We can't ask the Steelers to play their starters and pretend it's regular season so we can really assess our guys...no, but we can play the teams on our schedule.... whether regular season or preseason.
