I remember the Lambeau crowd chanting "We want Dallas, We want Dallas," the week before they could have met in the NFC Championship. ALAS, it was not to be, as both Irvin and Deion went down in the Carolina game and we just couldn't overcome it.

The next year we met them in the regular season in Lambeau, the game was tied at halftime and was still close deep into the second half before we wilted. The final score of 45-17 was symbolic of the mediocre team we were becoming under Jones/Switzer.

That fourth quarter was agonizing. It seemed like Dorsey Levens would convert Every. Single. Third. Down.

Didn't win a game the rest of the year as we lee a winnable game vs the Oilers, Panthers and Bengals. We mailed it in in the finale vs NYG.

Ron Wolf (the Packers GM) spent 3-4 years in the 90s slowly and meticulously assembling a team who's sole purpose was the defeat the Dallas Cowboys. The signed Reggie White, the developed a mammoth NT in Gilbert Brown who was there to go belly to belly with the Cowboys OL. They signed Santana Dotson and Sean Jeans also on the DL. All of this was designed to neutralize the Cowboys OL.

The games starting in 93 where Cowboys blowouts. The game got more competitive in 94 and 95 and even into the 96 regular season but the Packers never managed to beat those great Cowboys teams.

When the Packers finally assembled their best squad (the 96 team - 97 teams) the Cowboys had begun their slide downwards and they never met in the playoffs.

Although you are correct, that GB was simply trying to hurdle their obstacle (Dallas) by building their roster to do so, Dallas was losing key pieces of the roster each year since the first SB even with the nucleus still intact.

It was not the same dominant team but still had enough to ouster the Packers yet again, I truly enjoyed the game yet again!

Yeah, that season started out promisingly with a 37-7 thrashing of the Stealers in Pittsburgh as we jumped out to a 3-1 record, then it all collapsed after that game in Lambeau.

You know, I laugh when people say that Aikman hates the Cowboys, but I can see him still harboring some anger at Jerry for shoving Switzer and then Gailey down his throat.

He was actually pretty good that first year with Gailey. Problem was a lack of receivers other than Irvin after Ernie Mills went down. Billy Davis, Jeff Ogden and Patrick Jeffers. Not that great lol although Jeffers showed the most.

Then we get Rocket and Irvin goes down. James McKnight goes down. mills goes down again. Jason Tucker flashed at the end of the year but it was wasn't a long term solution.

Yeah they only got 1 Super Bowl out of it. I think they could have been something special had they won back to back but 1 Super Bowl ruins it a little bit. I know that's harsh but they should have had multiple titles.

Even before there super bowl split. We were in their way. So while they mussed going back to back,,,, they also missed while we were winning.... When 49ers won.
