Cowboys Get Alarming Draft Label From Mel Kiper

The guard will be a good player it's just they had other guys with similar grades at positions of need that would have made a difference in the W column.
Probably based on value, Jalon Walker or Tyler Warren should have been the pick. Maybe even Walter Nolen or Shemar Stewart.

I feel better about passing on Walker and Stewart after taking Ezeiruaku, who I think is the better pass rusher. Would have liked to have Nolen, but I understand the concerns about him, while Dallas went with a high-character player. Warren would have been interested but we needed a tight end less than pretty much any position in this draft.

I would have "reached" for the receiver Matthew Golden, but I can't say he was a better value than Booker, and given where he went, it doesn't seem teams valued him more than Booker.

Slightly lesser position value, greater upgrade need, though many would have considered him a reach at 12 too.

I can see them shying away from Grant as a Mazi clone from the same school. Fool me once...

I thought Grant was the obvious play too. Now I'm less sure. Maybe just getting burned by Mazi left a mark.
I don't think they were interested in an early-round NT. Nolen seemed to be the other player they were debating because he brings the ability to both rush the passer and stop the run ... when he's motivated to do so.

Booker was a great pick for Dallas, but we all know it was a reach….a safer reach than some of the higher rated players. Most think Egbuka was a reach to go as the #2 WR in the draft, but he was the safest guy.

Kiper ended up giving us a good grade on our draft.

He had a complete breakdown. Said the NFL didn't know what they were doing.
He looked and sounded like a nutcase. He said the NFL doesn’t know how to evaluate QBs. That was a pretty dumb comment.

Oh? Which player exactly? How many wins? How do you quantify that? So many questions.
