Why didnt we just sign Matt overton? He filled in nicely last year. But k. I guess he's just as good.
Overton has kind of been one of those guys teams pick up when they have to instead of one they go looking for. Bounced around a little despite only having a few bad snaps. Seig had held down his job until this latest coaching change for the Raiders.

It helps to have a long snapper who can also cover the punt since they can’t hit him right away.

This is actually a very good signing, Sieg is a really good long snapper from the Raiders.

He is also very durable, he has played in every single game for the last 5 seasons for the Raiders.

The only reason the Raiders let him walk is because the new special teams coach was hired from Denver and he brough the long snapper from Denver with him.

Man, I dont know what is going on, the front office is actually killing it this offseason.

The front office is hitting on all cylinders. Their plan is working. They targeted trades to bad teams to gain difference makers at corner and receiver. Their long term plan to draft and develop is also paying off They now have 7 draft picks to work with and have money left for more free agent signings.

I long snapped in one game because our normal guy was hurt, and the other team literally had a giant who clubbed me like a baby seal.

Full disclosure… I was a DB and happened to be Safety sized.

That big guy nearly beat me to death that night. I was so glad that was the only game that our long snapper missed.
Yeah, you actually get hit a lot.

It's not something everyone can do though, it's a bit of an odd skillset. I had big legs and could root myself in place and I was hyper accurate getting the ball where it needed it be.

It's a very niche ability but man, you do want that guy that's good at it doing it.

He wasn't that good. There were lots of snaps that were a bit high or a bit outside. There's was a noticeable difference when he took over.

Stop. This board is not for this sort of talk.

Please trash Dak and other in all posts.

This will be your last warning.

Trent Sieg was the Raiders' long snapper for 80 games over the last five seasons.

On Sunday, Las Vegas released the 27-year-old special teamer, two days after signing Jacob Bobenmoyer to a three-year, $3.815 million deal.
The acquisition of Bobenmoyer, who worked with the Raiders' new special teams coordinator Tom McMahon in Denver, put the writing on the wall for Sieg.

Only 27 he will have this job for the next 15 yrs
