Cowboys Get Sam Williams

Yeah that's what I'm happy about. We needed to upgrade our offensive line and front 7. I'm happy we are addressing those needs. I would have been upset if we drafted a TE, CB, RB or WR.

I don't know much about this guy so I'll have to lean on your guys' expertise on this one. I'm happy with addressing the front 7. I'm feeling the consensus is 50/50 on this guy. Anyone who wants to provide info on him feel free. It would be appreciated.
He’s a solid pick. Pass rush specialist. Not good against the run. Off the field issues like all our 2nd round picks.

Well we do know that D Quinn worked out SWilliams and wanted him enough to draft him the 3rd rd. But that doesn’t seem to matter to a few that know better. It’s funny really

in the highlights, I am seeing that OC are double teaming him and always chipping him. That is good compliment, but Kiper ranked him at 125? Not that he is a draft guru and right all the time

yah kiper had him 3rd or 4th round. I don’t agree. And considering we can use him as a pass rush specialist and have Armstrong for first down it makes more sense for us. I still would rather have jermain Johnson.

There is so much more to being an EDGE besides pass rushing. I mean, why should Cowboy opponents even bother passing the ball.

Williams is not a good run defender so his pass rushing abilities will typically be irrelevant. How important is a pass rush on 2nd and 2?

I'm impressed with his speed but he need power to defend his space. We'll see.

we have Armstrong in there on run downs.

And that's been our problem. Sacks are going to be down on the Cowboys no matter who is playing the edge. We're always at 2nd and 5 and 3rd and 2. We need to stop the run. It would be nice if they traded up for Travis Jones.

Has Jalen Tolbert South Alabama gone off the board yet ? Would add to the wide receiver talent day one and help out quite a bit while Gallup is on the mend. Could see him CEE DEE & Washington in three receiver set . Good value pick .

I agree. I think that was a missed opportunity. Dean as well.

It's the way it is. Dallas rarely, if ever, trade up in the first 3 rounds. Even if a player falls.

What bothers me is we really didn't even have to trade up! Both those dudes were just sitting there in the 2nd.

Stick it Cowboy Roy I nailed the 3rd round pick before they made it . Home run . They needed a receiver and I called it Tolbert it is .

This has been a solid draft through three rounds . Help in every area they needed help. Both the picks tonight are solid .

Dak has a nice target coming in and Williams helps the edge . Sets up the last day . And Stephen Jones might be wrong the first pick might just be better at guard then at tackle and 77’s future replacement . He may be 52’s permanent replacement .
