Cowboys/Giants

I believe we will win the division. We have the most talent from top to bottom, the best QB and the fewest questions marks.

Most of the 2009 Cowboy prognostications tend to only focus on two things:
Our release of Owens and our poor finish in 2008.

dear caught in the headlights ...We will beat the Giants TWICE this year ...Nuff said...Bill Knows

While i do agree that the Giants have nobody at WR and eli looked really bad after plax went down. They also add Osi and Canty to a defense that is already nasty.

Outside of one season where he inflated his sacks stats against Winston Justice, Osi has never had a double digit sack season. 8.5 was his career high I believe.

I'll put our offense up against the Vagiants defense all day along, and twice on Sundays!

Osi yes, Canty not so much. Canty would often disappear in games. Yes I wish he resigned with the Boys, but not for anywhere near what the G-Men overpaid to get him. Add to that he's changing positions and it looks like a bad signing for NY. On Sirius they were also discussing the best QB's in the NFC. Shein and Wilcotts both had their top five the same.
1) Brees
2) McFlab
3) Eli
4) Cutler
5) Rogers

While I agree with Brees, the rest make no sense. I think Romo is better then all the rest including McFlab. His stats prove it. He just needs to win a playoff game, but so do Cutler and Rogers.

Eli Manning always looks like a dear caught in the headlights when he drops back to pass. I wouldnt have much confidence in him if I was a Giants WR. He looks confused and lost most of the time in the pocket.

Do you frequently try to run your wife/gf down with the car or something?

I guess he is writing a letter to somebody named "caught in the headlights"

Listening to Adam Schein today on Sirius and everyone is slobering over the G-Men to win the division. I know I'm a homer but are the Giants really that much better the Dallas? We split the season series with them last year, but was that game in NYC last year really a apples to apples. I'd have to say no with Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger as our QB. Granted the Giants lost Osi for the year, but it's much easier to replace your DE then QB. Let's not forget, Eli lost his best reciever, and basically looked lost once Plax shot himself. Call me a homer, but I guess I'm just not convinced.

I agree with ya, but Dallas has dug their own grave with all of their December collapses, even pre-Romo. It sounds like this team could go undefeated through November and still have no support from the "experts" until they prove it in the last month. :(

Ok, I could MAYBE see the reasoning behind the first four, maybe. But, Aaron Rodgers? You've GOT to be kidding me.

This season really needs to start. :bang2:

Much Man Love for Cutler on Sirius. I'd put Romo at least in the top 3. Take out Eli's last 5 games of the 2007 season and he would not even be in the top ten.

The Giants do have a good team and a lot of you are over rating the WR position.

If you can run the ball and protect the Quarterback than you its hard not to have a good passing game.

They have a great D line, good linebackers, and a really nice secondary with a guy named Kenny Phillips who will probably take it to another level after coming on nicely last year.

Now are the Giants as great and the Cowboys as bad as everyone in the media is suggesting? No way.

I respect what they have on that roster though but I wouldn't trade what the Cowboys have.

Also Eli may have won a title but IMO he isn't near the playmaker that Romo is yet.

When the 2 are on the field at the same time it looks to me more like Romo is trying to win his team the game and Eli is trying not to screw it up for his.

I agree that the Giants might be overrated. Overall I think that they will not be as tough this year. They don't have a suitable replacement for Plax in the passing game, as everyone notes. But this will affect the running game negatively, too. It will be easier than before to just put 8 guys in the box on defense and slow that running game, which also is without Ward. I think the Giants offense will struggle more all-around this year.

As long as they're telling everyone else how great they are and not telling this team how great it is, or should be, then it's all good.

That's a great point about their run game. Look to the game in Dallas last year, granted Jacobs was injured, but we pretty much shut them down both running and passing.

You're a homer ;)

I really don't get too worked up about pre-season chatter...unless it's completely crazy talk.

Each team has legitimate reasons they could win the division, or finish dead last.

Washington could win the division on a potentially dominant defense and an adequate, mistake-free offense. They could finish dead last with QB, O-Line, and WR issues.

Dallas could win the division with potentially diverse, explosive offense and a smothering pass rush on defense. They could finish dead last with O-Line, WR issues.

NYG could win the division with a 2007 game plan. They could finish dead last with no passing game and Jacobs and Bradshaw getting overwhelmed at the LOS.

Philly could win the division with a young explosive offense, supported by the #3 defense last year, the could finish dead last with the Jim Johnson distraction, and the rookies and kids don't step up like they did last year.

See how easy that was?
