Cowboys goal with the 12th pick

Unfortunately at 12 this year it sounds like you are likely getting a player with a 2nd round grade so will potentially not be a bonified starter
Most likely two qbs are getting drafted early so the Cowboys can get a top 10 player staying put. I don’t think moving back makes sense unless they get much better than fair value on the chart.

Disagree with him when he said" you build it from the outside-in".

Ever since 2016 they've been doing that exact thing and that's why they can't run the ball and can't stop the run.

I'm a believer in building it from the "inside-out" where the trenches are the main thing.

No wonder Jerry hired him
They did invest in Tyler Smith and Cooper Beebe on offense and I think they knew they would use Tyler at OG.

They also invested in Mazi Smith in the first to help stop the run. Now that has not panned out. But the effort was there. Something they have not done in quite a long time in the first round.

Seems they have better luck in the first round for oline than Dline.

However this draft has too many good 1 tech DTs so pretty sure they will get one.

Just a matter if they can get a good one or not.

Also the outside in thing.
Most consider a DE, CB, WR, OT, QB and RB as the top spots on O and D.
Most of those are outside positions. Just saying, it is not some different philosophy here.

Without that offensive line “Barkley, Brown, Smith, and Goedert” would be stars. Not “superstars”.
And that's debatable. O skill players are sabotaged by bad OL play all the time. Look at poor David Carr. Never had a chance.

Nothing wrong with what he said. Too many boomers in this thread

Advanced analytics show the two most important positions in football after QB are WR and CBin this era
And both are negated if you don't have good lines.

Watch the actual clip and understand what he’s saying instead of just reading someone else’s take … who also likely didn’t watch the clip.
Since I like Schotty, I'll take your word for it that's not what he was saying. I'm not into watching a pile of clips, much rather read.
