Cowboys had a potential trade for WR

How about trading for Fred Warner? I'm sick of hearing how this team needs a WR.
They need a freaking MLB!!!!!!!

why would the 49ers give him up? They just reloaded their whole Line of Scrimmage this draft and Warner will still be the main guy in the middle.

And no to Pickens . Absolute headcase. Dez Bryant was one but atleast he backed it up in production.

I could be mistaken but wasn't it Shotty that said they were looking for high character guys?

Because he's the same guy that says they will build from the outside in and they took an interior lineman with their highest pick
True. And Jerry isn't a high character guy himself.

I thought they were looking for high character guys? That's not Pickens.
Beat me to it. Can’t be preaching about “character” guys then to trading for that type of player.

If he was someone to put them over the top, then sure, but they aren’t there, and at least appear to realize that…finally.

I have no problem giving Mingo and Robin a fair shot, something that wouldnt have happened if they made that deal….or even if McMillan slipped.

They did the right thing but I’ll never understand why they want to throw away seasons. Prescott isn’t getting any younger or more physically capable.

By the time they have their roster of “leaders” all built through years of drafting, what kind of shape is Prescott in?

They just signed Metcalf to a $132M contract. I’m dubious they want to extend another high-priced reciever (Pickens) that happens to be a nut job.
I don't disagree with that, but I think they are more likely to let his contract play out and draft his replacement next year. Unless they consider themselves to be in rebuilding mode, I don't see why they would weaken themselves and trade away their No. 2.

I’m glad they didn’t give up significant draft capital pre-draft because it would have put them in a rough spot if Tet was on the board. But now that the draft is over I would be open to trading for a wide receiver.

People that are saying no to Pickens, would you rather Mingo or Tolbert as your #2? If it’s either Pickens or those two for the second spot than give me Pickens.

Mingo is raw and has 2 years left on his contract, Pickens is a headcase and needs a new deal after 1 more year.

I will take the younger raw guy with the better contract that isnt going to be a cancer.

Pickens is productive. My problem with him isnt production or even being a diva. I could care less. I dont need a team full of guys that tuck their shirts in. My problem with Pickens is he a very long history of doing incredibly stupid things on the field. He is a guy you have to worry about blowing a big game by getting a crucial, and completely pointless penalty

It’s also the reason I have a hard time believing the Cowboys would want to trade for Pickens given the fact they’d probably have to extend him immediately to make it worth their while. For a team that likes to act like we’re paupers, I’m skeptical it’s what they have in mind.

Also, more explicitly, in the Day 3 post draft presser, Jerry specifically mentioned they still are open to acquiring a No. 2 WR in free agency. Which really means we’d be looking at the veteran street FAs like Cooper or Keenan Allen.

At this point, if they are/were considering Pickens (would be surprising w/Coach Schott's character speech), might as well call up rehab man Calvin Hill, and see if he can work any magic on Dionte Johnson who is a free agent. Prob not possible but he'd be an easier addition to cut if he don't act right. And yes, this is the state of wr on the team are at this point

if we trade for a WR than giving up a 4th for Mingo last season will be even more dumber especially when Dak was already injured when the trade happened.
The trade was more for the future, not for last year to help Rush. As the season was a lost cause at that point anyway.
When they chose not to give Lance a chance.

Lots of talk these days about proposed trades and player interest. Talk. The marketing team must have convinced the old drunk that is a way to keep interest high.
