Exactly. They shouldn't take their sweet *** time, though they will, out of respect to the coaches. This isn't like with JG, when everyone knew he wouldn't be in high demand. Mike will likely be a HC again next year, and they should give him the clarity he needs to openly pursue his next job.

Instead they'll sit on their *****, lose out on some good coaches, hold the ones we've got hostage for a week, all because they're too incompetent to a) do the work today that they need to be doing or b) know what they want to do (which is ridiculous considering the year we've had. They've had about 10 weeks to contemplate what's next)

It's just a window to tampering with other teams. In other words, Jerry has 9 days to make MM an offer he can't refuse to stop other teams from interviewing him w/o permission. IMO it's a moot point coz this marriage is over and they both know it.
Interestingly we have not seen any signs of MM wanting to come back. This tells me he is done with Jerry regardless of any offer OR he's confident about his options.

Probably already has........it's not tampering for coaches to contact teams. It never happens out of fear of being fired by their current team. There were reports Parcell did it ( can't remember the team ) during his final year or two as the Cowboys coach.
