What makes the Cowboys job more “desirable than Jacksonville, New Orleans or the Jets”? Here’s some not so secret information. Mike McCarthy will be the head coach of the team that offers him the most money to be their head coach. Assuming he gets even a single offer.
The jets have worse ownership than us, in a market where you can’t hide from the press and the press doesn’t work for ownership like here in Dallas, New Orleans is in a worse cap position than us with little flexibility, and the jags play in a market where no one cares where arguably the ownership is even more helter skelter than Dallas.

It gets better.

Per Ian Rapoport, they want to offer him a one year deal.

So this null and void defunct 2024 will be the same exact thing in 2025.

Except that’s not what he said…he said that it’s not automatic that McCarthy just accepts a job if the cowboys were to say offer him another 1 year deal. It’s a hypothetical it’s not what he’s reporting

Oh geez thankful for this, I'm glad this gives Jerry and Stephen even more time to think, you know what happens when they start thinking!! Oops, they "have had no thoughts of anything!" lol
The Joneses always out think themselves results with disastrous consequences.

No I hear that. But he usually reports based off what he is hearing from the inside

I still find it funny that some think McCarthy will actively walk away from the job if Dallas wants him back, I’ll die on this hill and eat crow if wrong. It’s one of. 32 jobs in the nfl and as bad as we may think it is right now or with Jerry it’s more desirable than Jacksonville, New Orleans or the jets.
That’s true. Realistically he wont, but there’s still part of me that hopes he tells Jerry to stick it.

He IS probably going to want a nice raise, which Jerry isn’t going to want to do, because coaching doesn’t matter, so I can see that part of things blowing things up, especially with Stephen treating that money as if it’s preventing him from feeding his family.

That means 5 years ago these guys thought of this moment and prepared for it.

This front office. We are spoiled.

That's why a lot of us complain.

We aren't knowledgeable enough to know they are actually making moves years ahead of time, several steps further than most can fathom.

Exactly right and if we were structured differently that may not be the case.

Are people getting it now?

The jags could be more desirable than us if they allow someone like Johnson to name his price and pick his gm. Which could be possible

This team literally is incapable of making decisions. It's all about let's keep going one more chance, one more chance, one more chance and hoping for everything to go right THIS TIME like an 11 year old who is blinded by team love over objectivity
