I think you mean interior linemen. We for sure have a d-line. How good? I don't know but they have players on the edge.
Who did they have on the edge last year (aka 2024 season)?

DFLAW was missing the season because of injury
Sam Wiliams hurt
Parsons was playing LB

Kneeland?

There was a concerted effort by the Dallas Cowboys this offseason to not only repair the corps of linebackers, but to wildly upgrade it.

It began with poaching Eric Kendricks away from the San Francisco 49ers at the last minute in free agency, and then using a third-round pick on Marist Liufau. And though DeMarvion Overshown was already on the roster, returning from a redshirt first year makes him a de facto acquisition for 2024.
That's two third-round picks taking the field for their first NFL game.

The moves made were to allow Damone Clark to get back to playing the style of ball in Year 3 that made him an All-American and First-Team All-SEC linebacker at LSU.

As noted, Clark hails from LSU (and he's now played in many an unfriendly NFL stadium), Overshown arrived from Texas and Liufau suited up for Notre Dame; and the latter made it clear he's accustomed to playing for a "team that everybody hates", a sentiment that could mentally serve him well in adjusting to wearing the Star.

One of the best, if not the best, cover linebacker in the 2023 class, Overshown is not exaggerating regarding his ability to cover ground rapidly and play sideline to sideline. The same goes for Liufau’s speed and football IQ, and all of these things will be needed to help contain Watson — though it must also be said that Watson hasn't played in a game since being put on season-ending injured reserve in November with a shoulder injury.

Potential Defensive Powerhouse

Pairing Speed with the formidable Micah Parsons could potentially transform the Cowboys’ defense into a formidable force in the league. With Parsons’ raw talent complemented by Speed’s experience and skill set, the unit could emerge as a dominant presence on the field.

After grappling with injuries that hampered their defensive performance in the previous season, a healthy defensive lineup fortified by the addition of a player like Speed could tilt the scales in favor of the Cowboys in 2025. Anticipate a defense capable of clinching crucial victories for the team, solidifying its position as a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season.

Wait... really? Dallas literally has not one LBer under contract and/or ready to start next season. They need to sign or draft at least 4 guys just to have LBers. Uuugh?!

Or wait and see. Go Cowboys!
A look at the core to see in growth of a young player.

Damone Clark

Damone Clark has disappointed after it appeared his arrow was pointing up after a promising sophomore season in 2023.

Unless he is so incredibly terrible next offseason or the Cowboys feel desperate enough to cut him just to save $1.1 million, there is no reason that Clark won’t be back in 2025 for the final year of his rookie contract.

At LSU he was an All American at linebacker. We are coming into a new opportunity with injuries being overcome and motivation abounds for the entire defense.

This is year three for this great potential and I always project a leadership and motivation side where there really is high potential involved. I'll just watch and see where this man ends up as a professional linebacker...(if you check to see if your beer is opened or not.)

I wouldn't be mad if we let Osa walk (money) and we grabbed 2 DT's in the NFL Draft because I doubt we sign a good one in FA. And so far the 2025 Draft is supposed to be GREAT with interior dline talent. I wish Mason Graham some how fell to us but we know that aint happening unless he has a terrible combine or suffers an injury.

BTW I was wonder what happened to Viliami Fehoko who was our 4th rounder pick in the the 2023 draft. Of course he is on the Commanders roster lol.
I can see more of our players getting signed to the Commanders roster if we let them go. Washington Cowboys lol.

I am starting to think Jeanty gets picked before we pick at 12.

So they going to waste a tag on him? The point is he has been a big piece of our DL for years and could've been had for the cheap instead of allowing him to test the market.
Why would his agent have considered a “cheap” deal for his client at any point in time?

Dude I have no idea what you're talking about. I just wasn't aware they had no one signed or not injured to start the season. I really don't get what you're tripping about? Did I miss something?

Group building strength builders at the start of a process are what are used to focus and direct team strengths.

Learn proven indicators beyond a whoopee laden fan hero standard. (stereotype)

One first has to learn what stage a group is in ... to understand how to build production and management of it. Where this team is at...not an awe Jerry.

I'm not part of a popularity contest when posting.

To understand any numbers beyond how that affected the previous season, first see and understand why there is a ton projecting and plenty of talent on this very team.

For a starter, the core of the linebackers is a pretty impressive group as well as talented to boot.

This is the formation of the coaching group and their collective talents are what will formulate team concepts and in turn select players to utilize.

It is in a formative and after action analysis and staff formative time in the season.

My point was that the linebacker is far from not having a ton of forgeable material to mold and educate.

I have added several posts that included some of the potential, and there is plenty there. Player problems can be solved, especially in the arena of injury.

That, and good leaders can teach their members on effective. Both coaches and current players bring a lot to the table already. The key now is not doubting but what is there to optimize it's strengths with. Notice...

Kneeland?
I thought they got a solid year out of Lawson.
Micah was solid.
Kneeland was a rookie who got hurt.
Lawrence got hurt.
Sam Williams got hurt.

Sam has been underwhelming, not living up to his second round pick. he was directly responsible for a couple of bone headed penalties that cost us games. he has underwhelmed greatly.
Kneeland gets a hall pass for now, but didn't show much and he is injured. I wonder if he is going to be like Lawrence.

neither make you go WOW. great. they are slightly above jags. perhaps williams is a JAG at this point.
Williams had 5 sacks in 300 snaps primarily spelling Micah. Lawrence had 5 in over 900. One of his sacks was vs Mailata who he torched on a speed rush on the play. Believe it was the only sack Mailata gave up for the entire season. He wasn’t underwhelming, he was under used!
