You sure about that?

I just looked at the schedule. We're 7-0 against non-playoff teams and 0-5 against playoff teams. (This is if the season were to end today and if you were to consider the Chargers a playoff team since they're in a 5-way tie for the final wildcard spot).

We beat 7 non-playoff teams: Giants twice, Eagles, Commanders, Rams, Raiders, Vikings.

We lost to 5 playoff teams: Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Lions, Saints.

In 2010 Seattle went to New Orleans and got blown out. Though not as bad as Dallas did this year.
Guess what happened in the first round of the playoffs that year?
Get in. Anything can happen.

that game really sucks right now. we could be controlling the division right now if it was not for that lions game.

Maybe, maybe not. Who is to say the outcome of the Vikings, Giants and Raiders games turn out the same way if we did win that Lions game? This team can't stand prosperity and I'm confident we would have lost one of those games if we had beaten the Lions.

I'm pretty happy with where we are. That 4-0 division record is huge. Nearly all of the teams the Eagles play down the stretch have winning records. We now have 11 days off. That likely means we'll have most if not all of our players back for Chicago, including one Sean Lee. And again, Romo is the best QB in our division, by far, and that's a great position to be in.

I agree. But (I just made a thread) we're 7-0 against non-playoff teams and 0-5 against playoff teams. We've done nothing to prove we can beat a playoff team this year. So I don't know if I can buy into the logic that anything could happen.

Take the Colts for example. They look awful right now. But they beat the three best teams in the NFL (Seahawks, Broncos, Patriots) so in their case, anything can happen. In our case...

Good teams with good QBs are going to beat us until and unless we learn to play better pass defense. If our offense really has woken up--and there's no good reason for it not to be woken up--we give ourselves a puncher's chance, but that's it. It's going to happen against GB, too, though they're as bad as we are defensively where it counts. People need to comet to terms with the fact that you have to be able to stop good teams from passing effectively to win the big games in this league.

Interestingly enough, out here in the Bay Area, I hear a lot of fans complaining about the Niners not being able to beat good teams, themselves. Things are tough all over, it seems.

WK 6 Dallas 31 Commanders 16 W
WK 7 Dallas 17 Eagles 3 W
WK 8 Lions 31 Dallas 30 L
WK 9 Dallas 27 Vikings 23 W
WK 10 Saints 49 Dallas 17 L
WK 11 Dallas 24 Giants 21 W
WK 12 Dallas 31 Oakland 24 W

Now we stand at 7-5, with a great chance at 9-7 and an outside shot at 10-6.

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

I'm not pooping on wins, but we are still beating teams with losing records and losing to teams with winning records....the stats on this since 2011 are gaudy and hard to believe. I'm grateful for every win, but I really want to beat a team with a winning record in these final weeks.

And yes, the Eagles were losers when we beat them.

We lost 3 of those 5 games by one score. The Chargers game was a tossup even if we lost by 9. Like I said, thin line.

I agree Garrett did nothing to improve his record against teams over .500. Yet a win is a win, and back to back wins is a huge positive for this team. It don't matter if it was against 0-8 teams. They need to win to build confidence and continue to win......Now they need to get healthy and show they can WIN against those teams over.500 (Chicago and GB). Rock those house's and it will be game on. Having the momentum is huge and lets help this Cowboy team enjoy back to back wins and quit picking them a apart for winning...... enjoy this win you can go to work and talk trash about the how these cowboys kicked some butt on Thanksgiving

So what it tells us is, when we play a good team and the game is close, we lose 100% of the time. Thin line.

I want us to win against playoff teams as well, but it's not like we've been getting beat down in those games either. So far this year every game we have played in has been VERY winnable, except one and that game was to NO in their house. 99% of the teams will lose to NO in the dome, including playoff teams, the Saints are no joke in their house.

This is a little bit tautalogical. If the line is thin it doesn't mean the better team isn't going to win. It just means that one or two plays and staying healthy can mean the difference between which side of the line you're on.

We're a borderline playoff team, so the teams that beat us should be playoff teams.

it also shows the Cowboys have a young team that is looking to take the next step, once they get it and they will get it, it will be game on

This is the NFL. A thin line separates top 10 teams from bottom 10 teams.

Agreed but the Cowboys haven't shown that they can stop any of the leagues premiere QBs from shredding them.

I think our team is as good as anyone's but our coaches and schemes will be our downfall. They give us no advantage.

Exactly..

This is the time of year we usually peak too so don't get suckered in.
