I don’t think this is a surprise to anybody. I don’t feel any team would trade for him with his injury history and subsequent decline in play.
That whole injury rehab fiasco really rubbed Jerry the wrong way, right or wrong; makes me think that that was the beginning of the end for Diggs.

I would think that Diggs has enough time accrued that he would not be subject to waiver claims. Am I thinking incorrectly?

I know that’s sort of a side issue to the Cowboys unceremoniously chopping him during the season (and the cap ramifications of that) but I was curious about the waiver issue.

I thought you were correct. Vested veterans didn’t have to go through waivers. But maybe that’s before the season begins

Diggs fueled the Parsons debacle all summer. They were tight. It would not surprise me one bit to see Parsons convince Green Bay to pick him up. Glad he's gone.

Diggs is soft and even at his best he might get a pick but he would give up a 60 yard TD.

Since last season I started to believe that this defense would never get fixed until Parsons and Diggs were not a part of it.

Time to get hungry players here instead of entitled ones

The timing of the release seems odd, but I guess this the team to play some younger guys and Diggs a chance to hope on a playoff team.

Hopefully the d-coordinator is next.

My question to everyone...Is Diggs worth a pick up for a playoff bound team if he pushes off a player who can not only play soft corner, but also is a contributor on special teams?

He may not be worth a pick up for most teams who secondary is set and their 4 and 5th corners also run down kicks/punts and tackles.

would not be surprised if he sits at home just like me. i was thinking about something .. i wonder if Trevon was WITH his brother when the whole strangulation incident happened. pure speculation from my part and if he was wonder if any of that influenced the cowboys decision making on him as of late other than his bad play of course

Pre-knee injury Diggs was on a record pace for interceptions. Can't forget that.

Too bad he got hurt and all the drama tainted his Cowboys legacy. We might end up forgetting how good he was a few years ago.

Bland was signed off of 2 years ago, that’s it. Bland didn’t show last season that he was worth the big contract he got, just like this year. Jerry looks at the shiny object, the ONE season with pick sixes…..now if he was a good cover corner.
