10 games Poe > Woods, Woods > Covington
6 games Poe >> Covington, Woods >> ?

We got a *lot* better at 1T. Improved our starter, improved our depth. With both healthy, we can have a legitimate rotation to keep Poe fresh.

We've got 2 legitimate 1Ts now.

This made no sense to me.

The last 5 games skews heavily b/c of a small data set. The difference isn't big enough to say "the run defense was better with Poe." Not by a long shot.

You can ignore the facts if you want. But it's absurd to include stats from games that Poe didn't even play as indicative of how Poe plays.

Agreed, and this helps out our linebackers tremendously. Long are the days of having Nick Hayden manning the 1T.

A lot of that was scheme, and also as he stated "rotation". Look at the difference with them on, and off the field, and you'll have a better idea of this. Offenses knew exactly when to expose them in rotation.

there has to be quality around or even better players look average. You can pin the defense ranking on two players as it takes 11.

Except its the go to here, Neither guy is the player he was 3 years ago, or even 2.

That's how you have to address a position that was ignored, ignorantly, for over a decade with failed attempts and wasted draft picks.
McCarthy isn't responsible for those failed attempts and wasted draft picks.
Sure sign of a smart man, is instant stop gap measures employed,, that's what MM initiated and deployed immediately because he had to cover a decade of ignorance in his inaugural presentation of what his starting DL will look like.
Poe and McCoy are not a long term solution, that is so very short sighted by those that oppose and degrade the signing of these two.
Poe and McCoy were about plugging a massive hole left over from a very ignorant past regime.. morons.

Again, lets see if they are going to be better players than what we had on the the downside of their career, saying they are upgrades is ignorant when you dont know what you're getting and their performances was worse than what we had last year.
