Really rooting for Trigg to make the 53. He would add a lot to the offense.

Cowboys Headlines: UDFA impresses; Trigg closing in on roster spot?
Cowboys Wire
July 15, 2026

The Dallas Cowboys have a strong track record of finding undrafted free agents who not only make the roster but also find ways to contribute early.

On offense, Michael Trigg may have the best shot of any UDFA to make the Cowboys' final 53-man roster. Trigg brings something different to the tight end room with his ability to stretch the field vertically.

uh, camp has not started. So nothing is proven as regards the new guys. OTA's are not worth much in really evaluating new talent. Some I can remember shined there and were never heard from again

Did You Know:

  • The Bears benefited from a jump in Trigg's production during his senior season. He was one of just six FBS tight ends to have at least 50 catches on the year, with three of the five players ahead of him all selected on draft weekend.
  • One of 12 children, many of Trigg's 11 siblings played sports as part of a blended family. Most notably, his younger half-brother is Mykel Williams, who starred on defense at Georgia before being selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the 49ers.
  • In his final collegiate season at Baylor, Trigg had the best statistical season of his collegiate career, hauling in 694 yards and six touchdowns on 50 receptions, averaging 13.9 yards per catch.

Yep, that's a clickbait headline if I've ever seen one. No one is closing in on anything yet.
That website is total click bait. Just regurgitated information.

The last TE with this much preseason hype injured himself right out of the league. Wait and see him take some snaps first......

But still, it would be great to have a TE with his size, wingspan and speed.

..if he's good enough, he'll make the squad.

I'm also high on the guy. We can use someone with more mobility.

Fergs is ok, but reminds me a noodle.

They didn't pay him all that money for nothing.

Math was never my strong suit, but the way I figure it.
Trigg-onometry subtracts Schoonmaker from the 53. ;)
Shoon is the best blocking te. He’s gonna have to play lights out to take our best blocking TE out. He’s most likely gonna be on PS

I hope is a great TE ........ but we hear about a UDFA "Impressing the coaching staff" every year

Sometimes they pan out ......... i will get excited if he shows something when pads come on.
