Cowboys hope to follow familiar path with Jonathan Cooper

Probably couldn't for what we're offering. He wants to prove himself and cash in, which means that if he does play well, he'll likely sign with someone else next year for more than we'll offer.
isnt Collins leaving after this year? I dont think we have to money to resign him and Martin.

He'll be a restricted free agent, so I don't see him leaving unless someone gives us a first-round pick.

I wanted Floyd but was not displeased with the trade back and the two guys we picked.

I wanted an offensive lineman, just like I want a defensive end this year, and was very pleased with how Dallas didn't reach for on, but traded down to the range where they had Frederick rated and took him there. I hope to see the DE spot addressed similarly. No reaching, but a definitive plan to get one.

I know some will be mad if we pass on a player who drops to trade down a few spots to get a DE where the value fits, but there's usually a reason those players drop.

The first round of that draft? Scary.

Wow. I have to agree, Very scary

I think they want Cooper as the swing OG/C on game day. I believe theyll select an athletic OL who can project to both OG and OT at some point in the first 3 rounds.

They don't have a very good feel for value. Remember, they had to sweat out Matt Johnson lasting to the bottom of round 4 when they decided to take Kyle Wilber with their first pick in that round.

A little unfair.
Firstly Matt Johnson had very good traits for a safety, had he remained healthy maybe he is a starter right now.
Also, guards historically were not taken as high as Cooper was. I didn't agree with taking him that high than myself, and don't think it's a huge stretch to think he could have fallen to them had the Cards passed.
