Nope our defense was good enough to win games. Our coaching staff, offense and injuries led to 4-12

Our defense sucked just like it has the last few years. Sucked in sacks, turnovers, rankings in pass and against the run. Make up all the fantasies you want. And all that with the other team not having to run up and down the field and play catch up or keep up. They new they just had to play conservative and score like 16 points and they would win.

Ya sure the other team said you know what guys let's not score. Let's go 3 and outs and see where we are in the 4th quarter. ....then we will score. .....haha you hold them delusions. For every "stat" you say we will bad there is another "stat" saying otherwise

Maybe you dont know the difference between a conservative game plan and an aggressive one. When you know the other team cant score and only scores 1 TD per game, there is no reason to turn up the offense. GET IT? LOL

Pull up any stats you want from last year to show that our defense played well. And ill pull up a few that show how horrid we were.

Lets put this laughable claim of yours to bed shall we?

Sacks=27th
Interceptions=31st
Completion percentage against=25th
QB rating against=20th
Rushing yards=22nd
Yds per Rush=19th
Fumbles=31st

The ONLY stats for defense that they show up in the top half of the league is passing yards.

Passing yards per game=5th
However when you look at:
Yards per attempt=23rd

So when they had to pass they did with plenty of success. They just didnt pass a lot because they didnt need to. Dallas couldnt score and all they had to do was run the ball, get a lead and run out the clock. Pretty simple. As you mentioned their offense was horrid.

And one could definitely argue that our pass rushers are even worse this year than last year and the suspensions will be tough. The ONLY thing this defense has going for it is that it may have lots of leads and will be fresh.

One thing we agree on is that the coaching was bad. You certainly nailed that one.

You didn't provide an answer....and yes I watch the NFL, what kind of a stupid question is that?
So what teams and players?

google is your friend. If you don't know that other teams face adversity and have star players go down with injury and still manage to win without those star players; I'm not sure what to tell ya. You can google.....start with "www.google.com" and then type in 2015 NFL injuries....and click "Im feeling lucky"

Let me know what you come up with.....

Fact is. Teams/franchises have injuries. And will continue to have injuries..... To star players. And they still muster up enough to win a few games and even,,,,,, make the playoffs...

Heck, some of those teams even change QBs and play the backup QB all season, and go on to win the SB !! Imagine that.

The title of this thread is Cowboys Identity..... I think 2 decades of losing and all the excuses/reasons as to why we lose have set into the Identity of the Dallas Cowboys and its fan base. "Its okay", "its all good", "tough breaks"...."well get them next year", when we don't have so many injuries.....when we get out of salary cap hell,,,, when, when, when, ..............it gets old.

I'm excited about the upcoming season, but make no mistake. If things don't go exactly right for us, considering injuries, schedule, timing, bounce of the ball, other teams getting hot....... we wont win. we wont win anything. As soon as this franchise faces any adversity..... they all fold.... because its okay....it doesn't matter....paychecks and money keep rollin in. well get' em next year guys.... losing has become acceptable.....

We can tell Tom Brady "meet you in the Super Bowl", after two decades of not even getting to an NFCCG......... Okay little Dallas Cowboys people....okay....maybe well get another "moral" victory this year? A participation trophy.....

12-4 to 4-12 doesn't make the definition of implode? Okay...........................

And although it wasn't for the entire year, other teams, Steelers, Bengals, Broncos, Seattle, come to mind, heck even SF won a game with a backup QB, those teams still found ways to win games. At one point I think the Steelers had Bell and 'Berger out for awhile. And they still won a few games.....No they weren't out the entire year, so we don't know how those teams would've done, but basing the teams W/L record while they were out , then I think you would agree those teams prepared better and did better, regarding dealing with the Injury bug.

I think a lot blame can go to coaching, and a lot to the fact that we are weak in the middle of the roster. But I really think its the culture now. 2 decades of losing has set in. The identity of The Dallas Cowboys is .....we usually end up losing................... for whatever reason/excuse.

I won't argue about the coaching. We should've won some of the close games. We weren't getting blown out though, except for the Patriot game and that says something.

The Stealers got a great game from their backup and Ben was out like 4 games. Our backups played worse than imaginable. Far worse than any other teams'. The morale hit after losing your QB, for what looks like the season, a game after losing a top 3 wideout was a factor as well. I say Dez is a bigger loss than Bell.

There's a reason many are picking us to win our division and it's not because we changed much besides our healthy players.

The mentality of losing can't be underestimated. Everyone involved feeds into that mentality. Including the fans.

Were almost always favored or in the hunt for a divisional title.... The NFCE is horrible.....

And sometimes people even pick us to "make it" this year, with a Super Bowl pick.....its rare, but I've seen them. Especially after we get a winning record......

but , they always, come up short. The Dallas Cowboys will have some reason as to why they thought this was the year, but as it turns out, it wasn't. again.

I find it hard to believe we haven't just ....stumbled our way into an NFCCG....over the last 20 years, -playing in the NFCE..... Could you imagine what our records would've been if we had played in the NFCW the last 4 -6 years???

The Prescott era?

Do you envision Dak Prescott on the stage at mid-field hoisting the Lombardi Trophy? Not in a million years. He's a career backup. Nothing more. Slightly more upside than Kellen Moore.

Probably our new Quincy Carter.

So what teams and players?

How about Pittsburg. They had Ruthlessraper, Vick, Bell, deangelo Williams, ect hurt. They still made the playoffs just saying.

Never know. When we signed Romo in 03 I paid it no never mind, another camp body. Low and behold. Look at him today. Just saying, who knows the future and what it will hold. Could be, could be not. Till proven a clipboard holder, I'll root for him to develop into a starter and maybe a star. Nothing lost if he does not develop and the Lombardi Trophy to gain if he does.

True. However, I think we've built something special now. The oline will dominate. They did last year without a great RB. We have one now and Morris is underrated as a backup. We have easily a top five O. Out D will be close to top 10. There are holes as there are on every team.

The last 4 years we have transformed from one of the oldest to one of the youngest teams. We've rebuilt with only one below average season and that year we lost several key players, as I've said.

We are there and i feel confident. I felt confident starting about week 5 2014 until now. I've felt like we could win forever. Now I feel like we will.

Great points. I feel that way too.... And I do think its different from past years. I really do think we could be a strong team. I thought we were just as good as GB, Seattle, NE, in 2014.... we could've beat any of those teams that year and won the SB.

I do think the FO is making good moves, besides not picking up/replacing Murray; I think going into that season last year with J Randle was just inexcusable....but okay okay....we don't have Murrays contract! And as it turns out, Romo was gone for most of the season anyway................

Were close to turning his thing around. 2 decades of futility is going to be hard to break through...... I do still believe in Garrett and the coordinators....

The question that looms for me is ...can we get enough breaks, put it together quick enough, to get Romo/Witten a SB. Which is what I want more then anything. Once Romo is gone, I still think we will have a team. Although Im not sure what the team is anymore? Like you said, we got young.....

But for this year, with Romo, Dez healthy.....EE...and I think Morris was a steal ...... if things go exactly right....I think we could get into an NFCCG. see what happens.....

I think the indentity of this team is what there record has been over the last 20 years average not a good team not horrible just stuck in the middle. They have lost for so long its easy to make excuses and jones keeps making money huge amounts of it they can beat the bad teams most times and never beat the good teams. this year will be another year just like the last five they will end up with good health near 8 and 8 and more excuses why they didn't win again. until jerry and the head coach and front office people are replaced with football people who really care about winning and not just making money then maybe there is a shot the dallas cowboys can compete for championship.

You made the comment, it is not up to me to provide proof. You are the typical troll, make the snarky comment and can't back it up. I do not have to google anything. I am not your research person.

No WR misisng? And they were in and out at various times. Not all at the same time and for the entire season. Bell was suspended, and he didn't get hurt until later, was it the playoff game?

I hope you arent right...... but Im not going to fire back with counter points, thats for sure......................................................

This "rebuild" or whatever with S. Jones, Garrett....clay, coordinators.... It feels different. or maybe I am just a diehard who wants to believe....
we gotta get Romo and Witten a SB...... we just have too..... ill go ahead and include Dez and S. Lee in there.. even B Carr......we gotta get these guys a SB. I know, B Carr is under performing, but he has been a solid and sometimes great CB in the NFL for quite some time now....and I think , he isnt as bad as it looks.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. So your saying if Dez didn't go down, even without Romo playing, if we would've had Dez playing, we would've won more games?
