If he recovers from the surgery (and it might have been a minor "cleanup" surgery, which is no big deal), he'll still be an average at least player.

But Dallas needs more than that, even for a backup DE. Plus you never know when his play will begin to drop off.

Would prefer a draftee, who, if he plays decently, will be around (barring injury) for 4 years at least....

The question isn’t who would they get, it’s who is willing to join this circus?

Curious if this is based on anything tangible or if it's just his need to tweet something.
One of the Facebook groups made a post “ should they consider him?”. Guess that’s what’s considered a worthy rumer these days!

Can’t we get a player with two hands and ten fingies? :/

These bargain bin players haven’t done the team any good, but the strategy never changes.
We already have one of those in the form of the TEN TOE MEDIOCRE SLOTH formally known as Dak Prescot! The slowest QB in the league at reading defenses and finding WIDE OPEN receivers and TEs. He's so slow at his job that defenses are now overloading the boxes with everything except the kitchen sink which has all but destroyed the running game because the O-Line can't block 5 on 11........................

How much input does Quinn have? If he’s on board, I’m on board! He may be a mediocre HC, but he’s a GREAT DC.
I always get weary when coordinators have a lot of say in the draft or FA. Maybe he is really good at it but most are not. Also in likelihood coordinators come and go. We get stuck in a rut when a new coordinator comes in and decides he wants a different type of player. Rinse and repeat.

sure, get their feedback and listen to their evaluation but In reality the ultimate say should be our front office. Unfortunately our two top decision makers are pretty clueless.

....yep..lol.. Randy was such a freak athlete.
he was. Many dont recall he was drafted as a linebacker, but converted to DT. Was viewed as a bust almost in year 1. Because we tried him at linebacker and he didn't do well.

Down year due to injuries, was a 9.5 sack guy in 2020 and plays the run well.

He’s trying to rehab his value for another big deal, a 1-year Stephen Jones special makes sense here. He’s a winner who’s going to be playing his butt off for one last payday, my guess is he’s productive if healthy.

I don’t think his stats dropped off because he is over the hill.
