I think the Cowboys have a better chance of somehow getting Ware as a part-time pass rusher.

The Cowboys need toughness on the defense. Ware had great talent...but nobody was afraid of him.

The Cowboys aren't looking for that one guy who'll take up 1,000 snaps.

They're looking for that guy to get 600 snaps and 8 sacks.

It's the Seattle way.

You end up with 6 guys that have 5-8 sacks.

Agreed. And, despite all of these 'free agency' threads, I'm not expecting the Cowboys to be big spenders in free agency.

Their current strategy of drafting well and not spending big in free agency is working well. 13-3 and #1 overall seed well. I don't expect that to change now.

You're right.

And they won't change.

I think they pick up a "middling" guys (DE, CB, WR) and that will be that.

They'll take a DE early in the draft and another probably late.

Then we'll have to see if any of the walking wounded/disciplined DE's are available to contribute at all next season.

I think Allison and Sheard are better targets.

Anybody really expect them to pay a DE 10 plus mil a year?

Long term? No

A short term deal maybe. If they do that then its probably someone that is going to be a cap casualty. I dont know who that could be
