I'm always skeptical when somebody like Schefter reports these stories. Agents love to link players to the Cowboys whenever possible.
The Giants are really decimated at safety right now, not only talent but sheer numbers. They only have two under contract and neither is anywhere near being even a mediocre starter.
If any of those teams is going to be more motivated to throw money at him, it is the Giants. Plus that is where he is more likely to be able to aspire to play more.
I would be surprised if he ends up in Dallas since we are likely to offer the least out of all of them.
Where's Matt Johnson when we need him?
We don't need depth behind Wilcox and church
We need them to be the depth
I'm all for depth, but I'd rather draft or pick up an undrafted Rookie to groom like we did with Barry Church. I cant understand why people keep putting down Church or Wilcox. All things considered, we have a formidable safety tandem. If the Defensive line had put more pressure on opposing QB's, they might just be considered a top ten duo. Church is coming off only his second full season and is a solid tackler. Wilcox is coming off just his third full season as a safety including his collegiate career and his arrow seems to be pointing up. I agree though, that Dallas could use a pure "coverage" safety on the back end bc Church and Wilcox seems to be interchangeable SS. However, I still believe the Cowboys can win a SB playing these two as long as the pass rush improves.
Comparison: Seattle's safeties are considered top three duo in the league, so lets compare last years stats and you decide.

Wait, agent tried to generate interest? Shocking I say.
(UPDATE: 1:57 p.m. A source within the Cowboys' organization said they are not interested in Brown.)
