I would just draft Jerod Evans late and go with the rookie. He would be able to run the boot limited playbook offense just fine. Handle him just like they did Dak.

Moore and Sanchez are awful..

If the choice is him or Moore, give me McCown. At least he has something that could pass for an arm.

Ok, if you have a young locked-in starter in Dak, but you want an emergency fill in guy who won't be a disaster, why doesn't this make sense?
You don't want your only other QB behind a young and growing starter to be a developmental player....unless you carry three.
Talk me through this other than "he sucks". :muttley:

I agree. If we're parting ways with Romo, we've got to better our backup QB situation.

I'd sign McCown then draft a young guy in the late rounds to compete with Moore for the third spot.

I don't have a problem with possibly signing him as a backup. Should Prescott get injured and miss a few games McCown would be a decent fill-in. If asked to play more than two or three games then his warts, same as any other backup, would be exposed. Sanchez despite his relationship with Prescott looked awful in Philly so I don't want to see him under center at all again in Dallas. I think McCown is better than Moore too.

Dallas can do worse at backup QB. They have their starter who hopefully remains healthy and continues to develop.

I would like to carry 3 quarterbacks next season. Our backup should be a veteran, be it McCown or Moore, but we should also draft someone late in the round.

Lightening won't strike twice but our coaching staff st least has shown that they run an environment they can be beneficial in developing a young quarterback. The Patriots seem to always have a QB on their bench that has trade value after a couple seasons---we should do the same.
